Morning happy sunny Sunday 🌞
Looks like it’s going to be a lovely day, so on washing load two. The laundry basket is empty, we’ll at least it was when I looked about 10 minutes ago. In the meantime Mr SA has got up so no doubt there’ll be a pair of joggers in there now.I’ve had a funny card and a bottle of wine from DS for Mother’s Day. Nothing from DD yet, she’s working today so she might appear with something later. Mr SA wanted to get me a card from the dog but forgot.I’ve put a colour on my hair, just waiting for it to work it’s magic. They didn’t have my usual medium blonde shade so I’m being daring and going for medium honey blonde 😆
We’ll be taking the dog out later probably just the park over the road. She prefers it there to anywhere else although it gets a bit boring for me.Trying a new recipe for dinner tonight Asian Chilli Garlic Prawns from a website called Recipe Tin Eats. https://www.recipetineats.com/
Exercise will be the dog walking and a yoga session later.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

my dad is a VM customer and I endeavour to communicate with them on his behalf as he is 95, a bit deaf, poor eyesight and very, very intolerant to multiple security questions. His initials are ER and I often get calls asking me if they are speaking to "er" which is an unusual name and a giveaway and so I say yes I'm er, answer the security questions including a date of birth which makes me 95. They really are the worst company to deal with.
also, I recall from data protection type training that WhatsApp shouldn't be used for business purposes but presumably that's changed as lots of companies are using it now.
Sounds like my OH. He has a virgin CC which I think is now MBNA so something, still under Virgin but their customer service would deal with it. When the CC changed hands his account still had his old phone number and address. He tried phoning them once, didn't pass security and refuses to try again. Unfortunately they know the account holder is male so I can't try on his behalf. It's a dormant account on his credit file, I wish they would just close it.

DD eventually produced a card and some lovely flowers.
The dog got a good run on the park this morning and Mr SA took her for a scooter ride this afternoon. She’s had a bath so is shivering on the sofa now.In money news today was NSD 6 of March. I’m going to cash out survey money shortly, I’m 8p short of £12 this week so hoping I can get one more in before cashing out. Also picked a load of purple sprouting broccoli from the garden. I don’t think I’ll bother growing it again as it must be about 18 months since I sowed the seeds and it takes up too much room for not a lot of produce.I made a batch of leek and potato soup for this week’s work lunches and a caramelised onion and mushroom lasagne from an old WW recipe. Just got to start making tonight’s dinner shortly.I also did some decluttering and have filled a charity bag to be picked up tomorrow.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
My DH had to surrender his licence following disability and it was hideous for him. Once his meds had stabilised and his pain was more under control he did the assessment to get his licence back and luckily he was able to (with mods made to the car) but he knows he can’t drive when he’s had some of his major muscle relaxers and gets really annoyed when he forgets. It’s such a huge part of his independence and he has a hoist in the car for his mobility scooter.
maybe it’s worth letting Mr SA talk to the assessment team and have them spell it out to him, then it’s not you saying “no”, it’s them, which I know from experience can make a huge difference to how long the angst goes on for. I feel your pain!6 -
That might be a good idea getting someone else with perceived authority to properly spell things out to MrSA - not least as he's setting himself up for a huge blow to his confidence if his delusions about driving carry on much longer isn't he. It's such a tough situation to deal with but there are people out there who are paid to be the "bad guy" in this sort of situation so better they do it than he gets cross with you.
I'm afraid the harissa paste did make me laugh though!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

That's Monday done. Worked in the office today then came home to do the last stretch.
Did my usual Monday finances check, the CC has been cleared of the week's dealings, a few oddments have gone to the 1p savings challenge to keep it up to date.
I needed to get a few things from Lid! on the way home from work so not a NSD. I did get a couple of reduced items a pizza and some veggie burgers that will go straight in the freezer. I've now spend enough to qualify for £2 off my next shop.
I'm going to a meeting about the park across the road tonight. Mr SA didn't want me to go but it's quite a while since the last meeting and I want to keep in the loop. I noticed that one item on the agenda is an organised litter pick. I litter pick on there every time I go over so in theory it's hardly worth getting a gang of people together.
Exercise was walking to/from work so 16,500 steps done. Should end the day on 20,000. Need to do day 17 of the plank challenge.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of the caramelised onion and mushroom lasagne I made yesterday with some salad.
I need to finalise tomorrow's Mr M delivery, do some Spanish and a couple of surveys before I go out later.

hello SA - have just caught up and snorted out loud when I read about the harissa paste.
@Jellytotts makes a really good point - if MrSA hears it from an official it will be tough but will finally end the thought of driving again.
my 95 year old dad still mutters about changing ceiling light bulbs himself - he walks with a frame and is nearly blind but he feels like he's lost the independence of doing a simple task that he used to take for granted. In fact he was such a proficient light bulb changer that when I bought my first house I had absolutely no idea about light bulbs - what sorts there were and how to change one. The choice and range now is baffling - I dread the thought of standing in front of shelves of lightbulbs and having to chose one. Recently I asked an assistant who was standing by the lightbulbs for help and they told me they were just tidying and knew nothing about them.4 -
Look at me still awake at nearly 10pm on a Monday 😆
I’ve not been long back from the committee meeting. Glad I went it was quite productive and a couple of local councillors turned up. I was presented with a box of chocolates for my litter picking. You know me I’m not impressed by chocolates but accepted them graciously. Mr SA will enjoy them anyway. The meeting was in a tiny real ale bar at the end of my road and I was surprised how busy it was for a Monday. Although it’s so tiny it wouldn’t take many to make it look busy.Mr SA has already been told he’s not suitable for driving and even has it in writing from his neurologist. Thankfully he seems to have dropped the idea after DS talked him out of it 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9
