I’m ok thank you all for asking. Just been non stop today.I am very sore. My arm, leg, hand and neck hurt. Nothing lasting though thankfully.Had my hair cut this morning then we went to the big Mr T, was lunchtime when we got back then DS and the GKs arrived. Bought a small folding table from the CS for £7.50 for my office so I have a bit of extra working space by my desk. It needs a bit of staining but otherwise it’s just what I need.DS put up the shelves for me. Mr SA was supposed to be helping but made himself a coffee instead 😐 He wouldn’t have been able to do them it became quite apparent so I’m glad I kept putting them off.
Had a lovely soak in the bath with candles lit on the newly put up shelves in the bathroom. Really pleased with the new shelves. Also have had a couple of shelves in the kitchen for herbs.
Tonight’s dinner was pizza and salad, got some left for tomorrow’s lunch. Rose cava has been opened and will also be some left for tomorrow 🥂Watched Strictly now watching a programme about Selfridges at Christmas.
Absolutely shattered so bed shortly.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10 -
I'm glad your DS was able to do the shelves for you - and Mr SA didn't try.
Here's hoping the soreness wears off quickly.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Morning all 🙂
Still sore and stiff this morning. Just spent a lovely relaxing hour reading with a coffee and chilled music in the dining room with fairy lights on and the fake wood burner on. So cosy. The bathroom light switch has broken 😞 The cord won’t pull. YT suggests it could be just a matter of replacing the cord.I need to go round the house with a tiny paintbrush and paint to patch up a few scuffed bits. Mr SA was crashing about in the bathroom the other day and has managed to chip the newly painted wall right down to the plaster! There are also a few other bits need patching up.Not going any further than the park across the road with the dog. I have too much to do to be trekking about all over.Trying a new recipe from the GF app for tonight’s dinner Butternut Squash Stew also trying a new soup recipe for work lunches Black Bean and Green Lentil which is a Joe Wicks recipe.Determined to fit in a yoga session before getting in the bath later.Should be another NSD.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Ouch to your soreness SA - I went flying when I was out the other week too - put my foot down somewhere I assumed was solid and it just went solid - landed half on a muddy area and half on the kerb, but thankfully softly enough that the only thing bruised was one knee and my pride! From past experience when the cord won’t pull it is either that it has jammed in the switch at the top, or that the switch mechanism itself has failed. If the former then unscrewing the switch housing may release it - if the latter though it may be an electrician job.Annoying to have areas that need touching up on newly painted walls already.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I hate those pull cords in bathrooms. They get pulled so often & are not really up to the job. I have 2 & no longer bother to switch them off. The shower one cost almost as much as the whole shower to replace. When I am rich I will have them done by switches outside the room, because those pull cords are a total pain. Why with all the new inventions has someone not come up with a better idea.

Hope the soreness wears off soon.
well done on the work award2 -
The bathroom light cord unfortunately looks like a job for an electrician. Will get him to repair the extractor fan while he’s here.Mr SA added a big job to my list this morning as he had a dodgy tummy. What a mess he left the bathroom in 😞 As for the landing carpet 😐
Decided to get the carpet professionally cleaned. Really struggled to get the stains out.Had to strip the bed and clean the bedroom floor too.Not how I wanted to spend my morning.Got all the patch up paint jobs done.Back to work tomorrow but only for 4 days as off Friday for a lunch catch up
with friends, so looking forward to that.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Oh no, what a shame about all the cleaning up. As you say, not how one wants to spend the morning. You did tackle it quickly though so a professional cleaner will have more chance of getting the stains out.
I hope everyone steers clear of the new paint.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Morning all, happy Monday.
Working in the office today, just snatching a quick break between interviews.
Start of the new 4 week budget period today, there will be an overall underspend on the last budget period, need to do a finance check later.
This week's free coffee has been picked up and enjoyed.
Today's exercise is walking to/from work and a short yoga session later.
Tonight's dinner is scampi with swede 'chips' and steamed veg.
It won't be a NSD as I need to stop off at Lid! on the way home. I noticed I've got some 50% off coupons in the app.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Pleased you were relatively unscathed after your fall. It sounds as if you got away very lightly.
Oh no to having to clean up the mess. It’s worth getting it cleaned professionally. Just what you didn’t need.I can’t remember whether or not I congratulated you on the award…..if I didn’t. Well done 👏👏👏👏January spends - £587.581
