Have made quite a bit of progress with getting straight and decluttering today. All my books are back on the bookshelves and my office is set up and ready for work tomorrow. I’ve also set up a radio/CD player that wasn’t being used so have music in my office.Pictures have been put back on the walls and Mr SA has let me use his hammer 😆
DD’s old desk has been moved to the greenhouse and makes a great potting table. Did loads of weeding, finally planted up the winter pansies and looted up the geraniums and moved them to the greenhouse. The dog had a good run on the park this morning. The washing machine has done its last load before it retires tomorrow. Great to get things dried outside at the end of October.Watched Hocus Pocus while Mr SA sorted out the shed. One of my favourite films. Soon be time to dust off Love Actually 😍Listened to Johnnie Walker’s last Sounds of the 70s while decluttering and sorting. Very sad he’s so poorly 🙁
Tonight’s dinner was leftover chickpea & lentil stew from the other day with veggie sausages. Also another NSD.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Another incredibly productive day chez SA! And you got to use a hammer too: I'm shocked!
I don't know if it's an option, as I think you said the washer is being taken away, but might there be enough life left in it to be donated to somewhere like a refuge? I know some charities and local authorities try to facilitate things like that - but I don't know what state of repair things need to be in.
If it's warm enough tomorrow I might try to plant some winter pansies too. I put it off because the torrential rain a few weeks ago washed quite a lot of soil out of the wall baskets!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Morning all, happy Monday.
WFH today from my new office 😁 It's lovely and cosy and I'm sitting right next to the radiator so no more being cold. Nice not to have Mr SA shuffling about in the background.
There's still loads of sorting and decluttering needs to be done but I'm going to chip away at it bit by bit. I've already filled a carrier bag with stuff for the charity shop.
It will be a big spending day today as I need to pay for DD's flooring and also pay the painter.
The bathroom is being painted today and that's the last of the jobs. Need to finish clearing it by 9am. I'm going to book a carpet clean for the stairs and landing now everything's done.
Need to do my usual Monday finances check. Waiting for payday on Thursday and also the regular saver money arriving on the same day.
Washer dryer arriving today between 11 and 1.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Happy Monday SA and happy new washer day ✨ Enjoy your lovely new office….maybe you need a lock on the door so you can hide your best things (and gin) in there.

I've been to pay for DD's flooring, the painter has finished and been paid and the washer/dryer has been installed.
Really pleased with the painting, he's done a fantastic job and charged a lot less than I had estimated so very happy.
Not had time to test out the new machine yet.
The WiFi in my office has been a bit unreliable so have ordered a signal extender. I thought it might be as I'm a fair distance from the router in a corner. Also might have to swap the voile panels at the window for curtains as the sun was shining right in and I couldn't see my computer screens at one point.
Had to throw Mr SA out as he came in and sat down on the tub chair I have in there 😐I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -

I bet it all looks great, and what a bonus to have it come in cheaper than expected. We had the same internet issue when we tried to change an upstairs room into an office for DH during lockdown: we just couldn't get enough signal upstairs despite it being above the router. We never got as far as adjusting the light levels as he had to move into the dining room (Trailing cables through from the lounge, but we got used to that). I hope yours sorts out and I think it probably will as you can get some signal already.
Next step - a coffee machine for your office?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Brilliant that all the work has been done and you've got a shiny new office too! Definitely get a lock so Mr SA doesn't, um, 'help improve it' 😁
Hope DD is chuffed (and grateful) and that the wifi booster does the job3 -
We asked VM for a free wi-fi extender & I must say it has really improved internet use in the back of our house.
