Morning all, happy Friday 😁
WFH today. I was relaxing with a coffee and my book when Mr SA appeared at 6.30 with a sleep creased face, confused and grumpy - it's going to be a long day!
The painter is arriving shortly to finish the dining room then at some point DD's flooring is being fitted so hopefully we should be able to start getting straight again.
Did a YG survey this morning but only about halfway towards cashing out.
If the painting and flooring are done by early afternoon I might go to the big Mr T with the soft plastic recycling to save me going tomorrow. Then I can crack on with cleaning and getting the rooms back to normal. I need to patch up the paint in the spare room before I start moving stuff in there as it got scuffed when we were emptying it. I need to have another big declutter of the cupboard of doom in the dining room and move everything remotely office-related from there to my newly created office. Hoping this will free up at least one shelf which I plan to use as a stock up food items shelf.

DD's floor and dining room painting are finished 🎉 Mr SA wasn't keen on the feature wall paint and said it looked like rust - it's supposed to be a burnt orange colour. I love it, it makes the room look really warm which was the intention. The other walls are dark cream. Not paid the painter yet as he's back on Monday to do the bathroom so will need paying then. Really please with all the work, everything looks lovely. DS and the GKs are coming tomorrow and he's going to put DD's TV on the wall for her, might persuade him to do the bathroom and kitchen shelves when I've bought them, will save the cost of a handyman and he's quite good at this sort of thing. He can help move my desk into the spare room too as it's very heavy. Might as well make use of him while he's here 😁 This puts me in mind of Mr SA's mum, whenever we were going to see her she used to phone and ask Mr SA to bring his drill/screwdriver/hammer/etc.

Happy Saturday 🥂
I’ve been lost in a world of trying to get things done since yesterday lunchtime.DS put DD’s TV on her wall and moved my desk and a bookcase into my office (no longer to be referred to as the spare room 😆). DD was throwing out a set of drawers in good condition so they’ve been moved to the shed to replace Mr SA’s battered plastic drawers. In true MSE style have only disposed of the frame of said plastic drawers as the drawers themselves will make very good planters for veg next year.In very unexpected but happy news I’m to officially become a MIL next year as DS and his OH are getting married after 11 years together.Mr SA is being a blooming pain. I bought one of those electric fake log burners for the dining room fireplace just to have the glow on a dull day rather than to heat the room as you can just have the flame effect without the heat. He’s become obsessed with it and keeps turning the heat on full blast even though it’s mild and not needed. I really hope he’s not going to turn it on when I’m at work,I can see that 🐙 credit vanishing in a flash!Yesterday went to the big Mr T and oh my days Mr SA stole a paper bat from their Halloween display 🫣 I didn’t know until we got home when he produced it!He has also started up a pester for camouflage cargo pants. He’s admitted he won’t shut up about them until he’s got them.Life with a 59 year old toddler 😐Dinner tonight is sweet potato, chickpea and kale curry. Prosecco is chilling for Strictly later.Exercise has been ClubFit this morning, dog walking and lots of steps moving stuff about, 16,350 so far.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -

Lovely news about the wedding - congratulations to both of them!
Are you going to march Mr SA back to the shop and make him confess? Honestly... reminds me of my now-Son in Law doing that knocking on doors then running away thing when I was with him. (I didn't make him confess: he's bigger than me). And how very annoying about Mr SA turning up the heat on the log burner. Is there a way you can adjust the thermostat so at least the heating goes off when the log burner is providing the heat? That might persuade him to leave off.
