With me, it's the batteries in my phone, electric toothbrush and Fitbit. All are needing to be charged more often and in the case of the phone, more and more often. Once it gets down to around 50%, it drops rapidly. The battery was replaced this summer, too, so I'd be complaining but the phone itself is no longer updating all the apps.

And while I'm thinking along those lines, the washing machine which has served us faithfully for many years is getting really rattly and the local repair man refused to treat it because he felt anything could be lined up to fail soon. I should probably take notes once you've had some use out of yours, SA.

  • I'm sure you've thought of it @Cherryfudge but just in case, have you checked how well the charger is connecting to the phone?
I'm embarrassed to admit I took my charger and phone in to a man in a phone shop saying no chargers were working properly on it anymore and what was up with all these rubbish chargers, and he gently took my phone, took out some tweezers and cotton wool, and extracted the most unbelievable amount of dust and grime from the bit where the charger plugs in.
I very shamefacedly thanked him, recommended he do ASMR videos on yootube as it was weirdly entrancing, and have never been back to that area let alone shop since 😂 Did get another couple of years out of the phone though!

Good call, @PennysIntoPounds - I've just pulled some fluff out of mine! :D

If it's any consolation, it's likely he's seen it all umpteen times before, which is how he knew what to do.

PennysIntoPounds My bil once to a watch in for repair and he got told off for the amount of dust in it - he was a baker at the time and it was flour.

I am waiting for the freezer to stop working. It is over 20year old and was 2nd hand when we got it.

Great survey earnings. Well done especially on PA, as I didn't think there'd been as many this month, though having said that, Mr F has got over £80 again to cash out from them. I will be lucky if I make it to £30 but can live in hope.
