Sorry to hear about the painful symptoms though. I wonder if the rice salad could have been the culprit (Bacillus cereus)? I hope you feel completely better soon.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
Sun_Addict said: That did cross my mind re the rice. Although Mr SA has felt the same and hasn’t had rice. Rice is classed as ‘foreign muck’ in his opinion and he won’t eat it, he’s the same with pasta 🙄
Lol about the 'foreign muck'.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Morning all, happy Tuesday.
WFH today. Toyed with the idea of going into the office today but I've still got an off tummy, although not as bad as it was. Will try for Wednesday and Thursday.
Mr M delivery has been and all packed away.
After much debate and research I've decided to go with a washer dryer rather than just a dryer. I almost bought the heat pump one then realised I've got nowhere to put it unless I have a cupboard removed in the kitchen or have it in the dining room. Also the washing machine is old, it still works but is looking very shabby and probably not working that efficiently. So the decision was made. Still researching which one but there are quite a few reasonably priced ones with good reviews. Depending on where I buy it from I could get a discount via work. Whichever one I buy it will be done the most MSE way I can 😁
The builder sent his bill through last night so paid that. It was £120 more than the quote with having to have the dining room floor boarded. Mr SA started getting agitated about how much the current refurb is costing and thought the money would be better spent on holidays! Pointed out we're going to Lanzarote in April and somewhere else later in the year. Also reminded him I've been saving all year for this work and it's another few jobs ticked off the list before I retire.
Today's exercise will be dog walking later this morning, bums & tums at lunchtime and resistance bands tonight.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of the veggie lasagne I made on Sunday with salad.

Lots of great progress on the refurb. Glad your DD is pleased with her room.
I laughed at MrSA's foreign muck viewpoint. When I was growing up my parents never used that description but were deeply suspicious of "foreign" food. Rice was only used for rice pudding, pasta not used at all and olive oil was purchased from the chemist to warm up and use to treat earache?! When I grew courgettes a few years ago my dad would only eat them if he was told they were small marrows 😋3 -
I think we all have older family members who view "foreign" foods with an air of suspicion.
We have a family member who absolutely will not eat curry but quite happily sits down to a plate of rogan josh or saag masala (so long as you don't tell him it's curry)
We bought this washer dryer about 18 months ago now and we have been very happy with it:

Cheapest place we found to buy it was direct from LG.4 -
Thank you for the link @RelievedSheff.
The painter is starting the dining room and bathroom from tomorrow instead of Friday so everything should be finished by Friday 😁 However this means I won't be going in the office tomorrow or Thursday - I was hoping for a break from Mr SA he's driving me nuts! The painter popped in to leave some filler he needs for tomorrow; Mr SA was in the dining room and was very quiet apart from the odd scraping noise. I shouted to him to ask what he was doing and when he said 'nothing' I flew off my chair to catch him messing about with the filler and he'd managed to get some of it on the new floor! Fortunately it wiped off as it was still wet. This brings back memories of when my kids were little and if they were ever quiet and shouted 'nothing' when I asked what they were doing it meant it was time to investigate pretty sharpish!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Oh SA I so admire your patience with Mr SA. It must be like having a permanent toddler in the house. Have you made plans to get some time to yourself when you retire because I can almost guarantee he will try to guilt trip you when you want/ need to leave him on his own.

Morning all, Wednesday already!
Must get dressed in a minute as the painter will be here at 8am. Mr SA is still fast asleep so will have to wake him up soon so he can get his breakfast.
I realised that the painter probably needs to start the bathroom before the dining room as DD's floor is going down on Friday and there will be clashes in the hallway. I'll run it past him when he arrives, see what he thinks. Can't wait to start getting back to normal.
My tummy feels a lot better now, it must've been a bug rather than the flu jab.
It's recycling bin and bottle bank day today and you should see my bottle bank 🤣 I had a clear out of the empty fancy gin bottles I kept on a shelf and it looks like a very good time was had indeed 🤣
Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, a lunchtime walk and Zumba at 6pm.
Tonight's dinner is a traybake with veggie sausages, I've got some butternut squash, swede and a sweet potato that need using up. I made some roast tomato, red pepper and basil soup yesterday so that's a few quick lunches for me.
Can you believe my tape measure has gone missing again! This time I think it's more me putting it down somewhere and not being able to find it with everything being in a mess rather than Mr SA taking it. The last time I saw it was when DD want me to measure her window for new curtains. However Mr SA has kindly let me borrow his manly builders measuring tape from his padlocked toolbox 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
He has a padlocked box?
So gracious of him to let you borrow his tape measure!
