A good painter is worth every penny and won’t take very long (a lot quicker than doing it yourself)
So are carpet fitters and floor layers

Sadly another weekend gone in a flash 😞
Gardening - picked the final tomato and a pepper. The tomato and sweet pea plants are now in the garden waste bin. Planted the two heathers that have been waiting for a spare pot plus a few anemone bulbs. The dog has had a good run on the park this morning then Mr SA took her again this afternoon.Gave the bathroom a good clean and did the ironing.Made a batch of roast butternut squash and red pepper soup for work lunches. Also tried a new recipe from the Deliciously Ella app for tonight’s dinner - chickpea and lentil stew. It made 3 portions so one for the freezer and the other for Tuesday’s dinner. Both cats and the dog have had their flea treatments.Today has been another NSD.Payday tomorrow 🥳I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
I agree with @MFWannabe with regard to good painters and decorators. I've never done it myself having had very DIY handy husbands/partners in the past and have always hired decorators since I've lived on my home. At this stage of my life I'd worry about messing it all up! They'll also finish it a lot quicker.

As it happens the builder is popping in tomorrow to double check the flooring colour for the dining room so I'll mention to him that I'm thinking of painting DD's room before he starts work just to see what he says. He might be able to influence a painter to fit it in.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Painters don’t normally insist rooms are emptied; they’ll normally use dust sheets to prevent any print splatter from getting on anything but will usually work with furniture in room. Are you able put furniture in the centre?MFW 2025 #50: £1139.75/£600007/03/25: Mortgage: £67,000.00

I must admit my last decorator was very good about moving furniture. He did recognise the fact that basically he had to work around the furniture. DSis's OH did unscrew my bed and we stood the mattress and other bits of it against the wall in the hall but we pushed the chest of drawers and bedside tables into the centre of the bedroom and covered them up. Likewise with the furniture in the living room and he worked around all of it.Good idea to check with the builder to see if he knows a good decorator that will fit in. It's like playing chess getting all these tradesmen in place! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

That's Monday done.
Payday so the money shuffle has been done. Incorporated into this was the usual Monday finance check. The usual sinking funds pot funds have been moved from the current account into savings. Just waiting to send the money to the regular savers tomorrow.
What a miserable day weather wise. I managed to walk to work without getting soaked but it was a different story on the way home.
Stopped off at the decorating centre on the way home to pick up colour charts, noticed another decorating centre across the road from it so picked some up from there too. At least there's plenty of choice of paint suppliers on my route home.
After that popped into Lid! for a few things.
Won a lucky dip on the Lotto on Saturday. I can never get more than a lucky dip or the odd £5. Just not lucky with winning anything.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and I'm going to do a beginner strength yoga from the FitOn app at 5 before having a nice soak in the bath.
Tonight's dinner is scampi with butternut squash wedges and steamed veg.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
