A possible counter-strategy would be to tie a tape measure round it - a pink one.

I bought a ticket at a small station, aiming to get home that afternoon. I didn't notice till too late that the person had misheard and the ticket was to a similar-sounding place 175 miles away. Thankfully the conductor was okay about it and as far as I remember, I was able to buy the correct ticket on the train. I was refunded for the erroneous one - it might have been interesting to go exploring but I was due on shift that afternoon!

Actually, if you get the right train, you could end up in the south of France. Just saying...

    Morning all.

Had a brilliant idea this morning that will minimise disruption while the refurb is taking place. If I get DD’s room painted first, then the flooring done she’ll only need to move her things out during the day of the floor fitting. The wardrobes are going on the opposite wall to where she’s having her bed so it can be in situ while they’re being built. I could do the painting, take a couple of days off work when she’s out at work to get it done. Then all I need to do is move the dining room furniture into the living room for a couple of days while the works are taking place. It would be a lot easier.

Definitely something to seriously think about.

That sounds like well thought out project management. My only questions is whether the workers will comply, but it sounds like a good plan to me. Anything to minimise the disruption.
