And just like that another working week is done. It’s flown by!
Worked in the office today, just did my usual 6 hours then logged off for the week. I build up flexi Monday to Thursday that covers my early finish Fridays with a bit left over to add to an emergency flexi fund that I like to keep at 10 hours or more.Had a small potter around town and picked up the free W@itr0se paper and magazine before heading home via Lid1 to pick up a few bits needed for the weekend.Today’s exercise has been 21,413 steps walking to/from work.Tonight’s dinner was Thai inspired sweet chilli basa with swede “chips” and steamed veg.Was lovely to have a good soak in the bath before starting the cooking. Absolute bliss. It will be an early night tonight as we need to be up early to take the dog for her annual vaccination booster at the vets. I’d completely forgotten about it so good job they sent a reminder this morning. We’ll need to leave the house just before 8am as I booked the first appointment at 9. I probably thought it was a good idea at the time 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Happy Saturday 🥂
Took the dog for her annual vaccination, she was a blooming nightmare 😞 She got herself really worked up and it was a constant battle getting her to stay still for the vet. Anyway it’s done now.Bought Mr SA a coffee and sausage roll from Gr£ggs while I had a quick scoot round BnM.Exercise has been just over 23,000 steps.Tonight’s dinner was butternut squash dhal.Happy days because Strictly is back 🥳 💃I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Forgot to say I used the free energy hour to charge up the vacuum cleaner, iPad and phone. Also cooked banana bread and butternut squash ready for the dhal. Did 2 loads of washing on a quick 28 minute 30 degree wash and did a load of ironing.Am over £600 in credit with 🐙 at the moment.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Boo another weekend gone by in a flash 🙁
Had a massive to do list today but didn’t get it all done. The morning started by finding a 💩 on the hall doormat, a slug in the kitchen, two huge bunches of very ripe bananas on the kitchen worktop and a lake in the garden. The lake was courtesy of Mr SA leaving the hosepipe on all night when he was topping up the pond 😬 Once again I say thank goodness that we’re not on a water meter. DD bought the bananas back from work as they were giving them away.Took the dog on the park, litter picked then went to the big Mr T again for some beer for Mr SA as it was the last day of the cheap offer plus fruit and veg on offer for the week ahead. The weather was beautiful this morning but unfortunately turned to rain at lunchtime so I couldn’t do the planned garden jobs.Made a batch of spiced lentil and chickpea soup for work lunches. Also made fish pie with cauliflower mash for my dinner and a cottage pie for Mr SA’s dinner.Just after 5pm I decided to wind down and have a bath. Thought I’d better test the water before I got in and it was stone cold 😞 Checked the boiler and it was showing an error code so fiddled with settings and thankfully got it going again. Had to drain most of the cold water so yet again thank goodness for not being on a water meter. Good job I never fill the bath right up.Just having an hour of TV viewing with a glass of wine then it’s time for bed.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
That's a great energy credit balance. We are about £320 at the moment and withdrew £200 a couple of months ago.Cats are so funny with boxes. Probably couldn't entice her to voluntary get into a box to go to the vets - they seem to be ultra aware of the approach of flea drops and vet trips.2

Not the best welcome this morning SA!😳

A very soggy day then. I'm very glad your water isn't metered - and that you live in a steep area so hopefully it all drains away.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That's Monday done.
Worked in the office this morning then finished up at home. The office was really busy. At the moment I'm enjoying my days in the office, I might feel different when it's freezing cold and lashing it down with rain.
The new 4 week budget period starts today with tweaked spending pots. There was a very small underspend of £31.06 over the last 4 week period which is less than I'd like but better than an overspend. £1.06 sent to the Christmas pot and £30 to the house/garden pot. Also another oddment of £2.93 sent to the Christmas pot.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home but only spent £3.39, £1.99 of which was on bulbs. Need to finalise the Mr M big shop for tomorrow, shouldn't be that big a shop though as bought quite a bit from Mr T yesterday.
Today's exercise was walking to/from work and I'm going to do a yoga session before I have a bath later. I'm determined to get into the habit of doing a yoga session 3 times a week.
The weather has been lovely so got yesterday's washing dry.
Tonight's dinner is butternut squash risotto.
