Morning all, happy Friday eve.
WFH today.
Cloudy here but very muggy. Breezy so have hung a load of washing out.
Went to Lid! first thing as realised I won't have time in the next few days and wanted to pick up some fresh stuff for the weekend. Got a bargain of 3 x trays of Mediterranean roasting veg at 60% off. Will be handy to keep in the freezer. Also stocked up on the 99p handwash and matching hand cream from this week's half price offer.
An oddment of £3.00 has been sent to the Christmas pot.
Today's exercise is walking to/from Lid!, stretch & tone at 12.30 and Zumba at 5.30.
Tonight's dinner is (new recipe alert) Miso Tofu & Aubergine. Will serve with noodles as I'm having rice at lunchtime courtesy of leftover risotto. Tofu is currently being pressed underneath a couple of very heavy cookbooks 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Was looking at our energy account yesterday, like yourself we have already built up a healthy winter buffer.3

Love the offers in L!d!, got 2 packs of minced turkey yesterday with 30% off and some bread rolls. Looked for the Beetroot burgers but couldn't see them anywhere. Will ask next time I go, as they always sound nice when you mention them. It could be that only certain branches stock them.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Happy Friday 😎
WFH again today as I need to finish early for a nail appointment this afternoon.
Lovely sunny morning here so have a load of washing in.
Quick finance check, cleared cc balance, sent an oddment of £2.01 to the Christmas pot. DD has paid her board so that's gone to the holiday pot. Just waiting for payday next Wednesday now. I prefer to keep on top of the finances on a daily basis spending around 10 minutes on it at the most. I always have a spreadsheet tab ready for the next payday so I know where everything is going, then on the day it takes minutes.
Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning and walking to/from the beauty salon. Aiming for 15,000 steps.
The miso tofu I made yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. Will definitely be making that again as soon as possible. Tonight's dinner is smoked haddock fish cake with steamed veg.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Mr SA has resurrected his baseball boots pester and I’ve been shown countless pictures of them on his phone. Apparently he has no decent footwear amongst the 20 plus pairs of assorted footwear he owns and he simply must have some baseball boots 😞
I’ve managed to stop the pestering for now by saying I’ll take him shopping next Saturday. There’s a pester pot in place to cover these eventualities. No doubt the acquisition of said baseball boots will result in them being deemed unsuitable and consigned to the footwear graveyard along with the countless pairs of abandoned canvas shoes 😬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Oh dear to the baseball boots - but I suppose it could be worse. Didn't he want a bullet-shaped necklace just before travelling abroad?
Perhaps he'd accept the shoe-hoard being weeded out in the interests of 'making room for the new ones'?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I think Mr SA & Soot are pester-twins! Soot trying it on for his lunch the minute we got through the front door at 9.50am!

Happy Saturday 🥂
Yes you’re right @Cherryfudge he did indeed want a bullet necklace 😬 He just gets these ideas in his head and won’t let go of them. The dog was at the vets first thing for a check up on her ear infection and hallelujah it’s finally completely cleared up 🥳 Nothing to pay and no more appointments.I popped into BnM while we were down that way as it might be my last chance for a while. Also stopped off at Mr T with the soft plastic and battery recycling. They’re already selling off the summer stuff so bought some seaweed plant food half price.Sat in my hanging chair with my book for a bit after lunch. Then did some garden tidying. Picked some salad leaves for tonight’s dinner of pizza and salad. My one and only surviving courgette plant has produced lots of courgettes bless it. It’s done really well.Exercise has been lots of walking just over 22,000 steps so far.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6
