I think most vets are insisting on a visit for repeat flea treaments. The advice from the RCVS have changed their rules so even if your companion animal has seen the vet in the previous 12months they are insisting on an appointment. I had the same thing with Bear earlier in the year. The appointments seem to be free but of course the treatments still have to be paid for.

All our pets are on the monthly vet plan so nothing to pay out.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Mine have the spot on treatment and I order both the cats and the dogs via Am*zon. It was a much better price than the vets when you factor in getting there and the visit charge. They are sent from Europe I think, so take a bit to deliver, but still have the normal U.K. packaging. My boy cats don’t travel well, they shake and drool and look like they are having a seizure so I don’t take them unless necessary. They are house cats so don’t need shots. It’s odd as all my previous cats were fine in cat carriers and a couple of the girls were happy to play in the car with their lead on, but this set are complete wusses 😅 I put it down the childhood trauma before they were rescued. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Luckily our dog travels just fine given the number of miles he covers each year!
You have reminded me it is his annual heath check next week and his annual vaccinations. He won't be happy about that!2 -
The vet visit was fine and the cat wasn't bothered in the least. She has lost weight since last year although this means she's no longer slightly overweight. I need to take her back next month for her booster and the vet will just make sure she hasn't lost more weight. She might need blood tests if she has. I never thought until I got home but I wonder if she lost weight when we were on holiday and she was only being fed once a day.
Finally managed to find a working cash point to draw out the cash to put inside DGS's birthday card. Also stopped at the big Mr T to pick a few bits up and to drop off a small amount of soft plastic recycling.
It was just over 10,000 steps to the vets and back. Just need to take the dog on the park after lunch and that will meet my target of 15,000 so anything else will be a bonus.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Sort of MSE related I noticed that M&S were doing their summer beauty bag for £30 with a £35 spend. I always get their beauty bags as they’re really good value and I’d had my eye on a blazer for a while but waiting for 20% off. From past experience they don’t do 20% off when the beauty bag is on offer. Remembered I can buy M&S gift cards at 7.5% off via work so bought one to cover the cost of the blazer and beauty bag taking into account I already had a £2 off voucher. Also had a 5 x points voucher to use. I suppose I could’ve gone via a cash back site too but at this point there were only 3 blazers left in my size so left it at that.DD is looking and feeling so much better which is good to see and she’s eating again. There has been a very friendly black and white Tom cat coming and going in our garden for some time now. Neither of my cats are bothered by him especially the young cat who goes right up to him and sniffs him. He looks well cared for so obviously not a stray. Anyway DD saw him and thought he looked like her friend’s cat who we got the young cat from. She sent a photo of him to her friend and yes he’s her brother 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6
