He’s lost his “normal” sense of priorities entirely hasn’t he - and while it’s presumably not anything he can help, it certainly doesn’t make it any easier on you being left to carry the load of all the worry. 🫤🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Sending healing and positive vibes for your DD and lots of love to you. Just try and do some meditation and relaxing and maybe if you showed Mr SA the notes, would that help him understand more? Hopefully the news will be good from the hospitalMaking the debt go down and savings go up

I’m saddened that the doctors will take mrSA’s no to a scan without talking to his carer. If they could find out what’s going on with his knee then they could save you all so much trouble with stopping the falls. The paramedics did a huge breach of GDPR there when they left the notes, but I’m glad they did. I wonder why she didn’t think to tell you? You must be so worried. I hope they find out exact what is wrong before she’s released again. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Just when you think what else could possibly go wrong..... I hope DD gets an answer for her problems asap. Would Mr S_A agree to just an x-ray on his knee? That takes less than 5 minutes and would help explain the problem. Mine gives way and the bits that don't work can be seen on an x-ray. Tell him no more beer unless he starts the process to see what the problem is 🫤🙄
You'd think the GP would know that they shouldn't ask him or tell him things when he's on his own. He has a brain injury which has lasting ramifications yet they are treating him as if he has full capacity which he obviously doesn't. I had to call my dad's surgery a couple of times while he was still alive and had vascular dementia. Luckily they took info from me and did call outs taking no notice of dad telling them he was absolutely fine (no he wasn't).
You have a lot on today, if I was closer I'd come and mind Mr S_A for you for a bit (my last job was one to one with someone who had a brain injury at birth and was autistic as a result). I can only send virtual hugs and hope that everything is sorted soon so that you can enjoy some of your second week off.

I'm so sorry to hear about DD and hope there are some answers soon. It must be so hard when you are having to deal with Mr SA at the same time, especially when the consequences of his actions mean more work for you.
I hope you can get some way of getting a break. Is there some sort of group that Mr SA could go to so you even have a little break of a couple of hours? Something like a Men's Shed or similar near you? https://menssheds.org.uk/"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2 -
SA, so sorry for the ongoing worry of DD, and Mr SA's obliviousness. As Cranky says, Mr SA doesn't have full mental capacity, so the GP are failing him by allowing him to continue being his own "decision maker".
I read an interesting article recently that may be something for you to try - Switching care home residents to decaf drinks resulted in a significant reduction in falls. Something to do with the caffein increasing the urgency to toilet. I wondered if this might help Mr SA?
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?4 -
Thank you all ❤️
@CRANKY40 thank you.@jwil he’s been to Men in Sheds in the past and walked out after 20 minutes declaring it’s not for him. He can be very strong willed at times and won’t do anything he doesn’t want to.@satchmo1 thank you will have a read. Even if it only helps a bit it will be worth trying. He has IBS so he should probably switch anyway.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
