@Makingabobor2 he’d hate respite care. I’d never hear the last of it from him and he’d be ringing me every 5 minutes. It would be too stressful.

Take his phone off him so you could have a few days relaxation.

I've been reading along for a while, you really are the glue holding everything together.  I totally understand you don't fancy a spa break but what about looking into local ones for a day out or even an afternoon to yourself?   I've yet to go but there is a posh hotel near me that has a 'spa' that is two pools with sun loungers, (one indoor one outdoor) a cafe and lots of grounds to do a nature walk in with a sauna and whirlpool and so on.  I've thought It might be a relaxing place to spend a few hours in the past. Never actually done it but it has always been one of the things I might do sometime.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Good discount there. My nephew works for Mr S & my sister always takes advantage of the extra discount.

I maintain the world is split into two kinds of people - those who think spa days are amazing and those who would rather extract their own toenails with a pair of pliers than even contemplate one! 😂

Looks like DD may have to go back into hospital. She’s throwing up blood 🙁 She looks absolutely terrible. She’s trying to get through to the ward now.
