I also bought a loaf of bread, some cat treat sticks and a bunch of mint 😆
That’s a good saving with Ocado. I use Mr M mainly because I get 15% staff discount courtesy of DD working for them plus they send me various vouchers courtesy of me having a delivery pass but I sometimes try other brands when they do a good offer like that.
My eyebrows disappeared a while ago, they were always pale but have really faded. Hence why I get them tinted every so often. They’ve calmed down a bit since yesterday and look less like caterpillars now 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Re eyebrows - I used to have mine threaded but they've rather disappeared over the years so I don't bother now. One-third of them at the end has disappeared and I pencil them in.The vagaries of hypothyroidism!
I lost a diagonal line through one of mine. But I still laugh over my doctor talking to the lab as the results were late & they told him my results had broken there machine they were so bad. The things we need to take pleasure from!

Morning all, happy Thursday.
WFH today, the weather is rather wet this morning so glad I didn't have to trek out in that at the crack of dawn. I have to go out shortly though as I have an appointment with the dental hygienist. Getting a bit fed up of these every 3 months visits to the dentists, I don't need them they just say I might as well have them as they're included with my Denplan package. I hate going so I'm going to be firm with them today and say every 6 months is plenty, it's not exactly a pampering treatment! Mr SA only goes once a year, although he's NHS.
Today will be NSD 4 of February. I count them but don't challenge myself with a set target as it's more important to me to stick to my budget.
Exercise plan is 15k steps and a live lunchtime stretch & tone workout.
I'm making vegan slow cooker stew for tonight's dinner here it's really tasty and one I make often.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -

Thanks for this - I had a look and I have all those ingredients just needing to be used. One query - a tablespoon of marmite sounds a lot of salt, do you use the whole amount?I'm making vegan slow cooker stew for tonight's dinner here it's really tasty and one I make often.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Sun_Addict said:I don’t buy marmite so miss it out. It still tastes great. I also make the dumplings just from fat free natural yogurt and SR flour with some herbs and grated cheese. Oh and I use a red wine stockpot instead of real wine. I never follow recipes to the letter 😆
The yogurt dumplings will be tried too.I have three pots of homemade yogurt that were destined for work lunches but as I now have leave to use, I was wondering how long they'd last. So some will go in the dumplings, solving two issues at once.
And... I was already planning on using a red wine stockpot. How neat is that!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I like yogurt in home made flatbreads too - SR flour and mix with yogurt to make a stiff dough. I usually shove some onion seeds or garlic in mine too. Roll out thinly and cook on a hot dry pan until they start to puff and bubble, then turn and repeat on the other side.
As for the salt in the recipe - it's meant to serve 4 from the look of it - so would actually end up as less than a teaspoon per person. (I could cheerfully spread more than that on a slice of toast!) It sounds absolutely delicious - I fear I'd never get it past MrEH as he's not a lentil fan but I may well try at some stage! I love mushrooms so pretty much anything with them in would be a win in my world!

Mr SA is a diehard carnivore and tried a spoonful last time I made it as he thought the lentils looked like minced beef. He wouldn’t have it as a meal though.I left out the salt at the beginning of the recipe as I rarely add it to anything unless it’s vital. There’s salt in the stock anyway so I don’t think it takes anything away from the flavour. I found half a pack of dried porcini mushrooms in the cupboard so they’ve gone in as well. I didn’t have portobello mushrooms so used chestnut ones. I haven’t really followed the recipe have I 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

We used to buy dried mushrooms from one of our favourite stalls at the Good Food show - but they've not been there for the past few years so we've not got them - such a lovely depth of flavour though! I reckon chestnut mushrooms and portobello aren't too different in flavour, I'd definitely use the chestnnut ones myself as they're a lot cheaper aren't they!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
