badmemory said:I can understand your DiL being wiped out. I had an MRI a few weeks ago & the noise!!! even with ear plugs & headphones provided was enough to drain me for a while, that on top of having to keep completely still, especially if you are in pain. I must admit I never thought that just lying there whilst a machine went backwards and forwards over me would be so exhausting. I couldn't even be bothered replacing my bra (they have metal in even if only the hooks) or even my dental plate which has a little bit of metal so needs removing. So grateful for a face mask & a winter coat too!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Hard on your DS too. As I expect a bigger load of the family things will be on him alongside what must be an extra worry. Just dreadful to think about & I hope the children are not TOO affected by it, but they must sense enough to be worried even if they don't know why.

I'm sorry your DIL isn't feeling well. It's very tough for all of you.
I don't know how old DGS is but I suspect he is aware. He may or may not be able to express it and if he can't, it might come out as a change in his behaviour sooner or later (I work with autistic adults but this is an observation not a professional opinion). If he's old enough for 'social stories', they might help him find a way to understand/express himself.
I hope your DIL gets a workable balance in her life.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Happy Sunday 🙂
Took the dog on the park this morning for a run and did some litter picking at the same time. Then came back home and spent a bit of time tidying the garden. The young cat was loving me being outside and kept running back and forth.
Mr SA had a fall in the bedroom last night but thankfully managed to get himself back up using the ottoman at the end of the bed. Goodness knows what he tripped over as there was nothing on the floor. Not a NSD as the balance of the April holiday has gone out today plus I’ve bought the annual travel insurance as it expired on Friday.Have done next week’s meal plan and have planned in 3 new recipes from the Green Roasting Tin cookbook DD bought me for Christmas. I’ve got most of the ingredients in stock so very little extra to buy and they’ll actually shift some store cupboard ingredients that need using up. Going to make a batch of carrot, coriander and butter bean soup for work lunches this afternoon. Tonight’s dinner is a portion of mushroom roast from the freezer.Mr SA has gone for his siesta so it’s lovely and quiet at the moment.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
Enjoy the quiet while you can 😃3

SA who do you use for annual holiday insurance? We were using Staysure but last year because I had to add that I have polycythemia vera (classed as blood cancer: an excess of red blood cells), it went up by £900 !! DH has had three health issues for decades.
House-moving stories ... we offered on a house, put our house up for sale in the local weekly newspaper, got an offer on publication day, and when we asked our solicitor how quickly he could process the sale he said "go home and pack". 6 weeks later we had moved in.
MRI scan stories ... ex-DH had metal staples in his jaw and skull after a car crash and some eejit wanted to do an MRI scan!!!
And did you read yesterday of the bloke who didn't remove his hidden gun before going in for a scan and shot himself dead? What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?2 -

Waiting eagerly to see what Mr SA does with the logs. Hope he doesn’t do himself (or anyone else) a mischief with them. Has it made a big difference to the light in the garden?
It must be hard for you all seeing dil poorly as you’ve all had first hand experience. Not an easy time.January spends - £587.584
