I have been reading about smaller than usual supermarket veg in today's newspaper. It is because farmers have been struggling with adverse weather conditions, meaning that supermarkets are having to accept smaller veg. I don't mind small veg, as long as I am not charged big veg prices. It will be interesting to see if our local greengrocer market stall is having the same issues next weekend, as they so far don't seem to have been hit by the sort of supply issues which seem to affect supermarkets.

I think we will have to get used to smaller veg at the usual price. It costs the farmers the same same to grow small things as large so unless we want to import even more food to get it cheaper it's going to be the way things are. Another price of climate change I think.4

@foxgloves I can remember doing that training at work years ago and having to watch a video of someone tripping over an open filing cabinet drawer 😆 The trainer asked me what was the heaviest thing I picked up in the course of my work and I said a pen. He wasn’t amused but it was true 🤣
My work trained me in basic scaffolding requirements. I was in an office at the time. Interestingly, many years later we had some work done on the house by someone who was reported to have been in trouble for endangering employees through inadequate scaffolding. When I heard the location, I understood at once - it was overlooked by the offices in which I used to work...I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I have just read a bit on the internet that Mr T. is accepting smaller veg as many crops simply have not grown properly due to te weather.

"A few days ago I was litter picking on the park and came across a little zip up bag that I think is for a roll of dog poop bags or dog treats. I put it on top of a bin so whoever had lost it could find it. I often get people coming up to me to say they’ve lost something on the park. Mr SA has just come shuffling in saying he had a present for me on his scooter and handed me aforementioned bag"
sorry but this made me laugh out loud. What a lovely gift for you. You are a lucky lady!

Trying really hard to feel motivated today.Mr SA and the dog didn’t get up until 10am so it was gone 11 by the time we got out to the park. There was a football match on so we were confined to the bottom end. Mr SA enjoys watching the football though.By the time we got back home Mr SA wanted his lunch despite it being less than 2 hours since his breakfast! He has now gone for his siesta. DD is at work so all is quiet here.I’ve got plenty to do but don’t feel very enthusiastic plus don’t want to disturb Mr SA.Anyway it’s another NSD number 5 of the month.Decided to just do pizza, wedges and salad for tonight’s dinner. This is usually an occasional Saturday treat but don’t feel like faffing about with food today. I will be making a batch of spicy carrot and lentil soup for work lunches though.I need to give the kitchen a good clean and also steam mop all the floors.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10
