I think you need to make an executive decision and just call adult social care and tell him it's too much for you to lift him and if he doesn't like it you will need to consider residential care for him.
I realise it's easy for me to say this but you need to take care of yourself especially as you get older. Sorry to remind you of that but while you are very fit now that cannot be guaranteed.7 -
That was a really useful post @Cherryfudge
@Sun_Addict I did some work with a relevant project (from an employment law/transfer of staff perspective as usual) and they basically said if it ever happened to my people, make a noise or drown in silence.

I have a phone number for the OT referral and plan to call on Friday when I’m in the office so he can’t listen in the background.I made a stir fry in the air fryer for the first time ever after seeing a demo on Instagram. It turned out really well and was dressed with home made bang bang sauce - delicious 😋 The sauce was just sweet chilli, mayonnaise and sriracha mixed together and it was lovely, will definitely be making that sauce again.
Bought a new shower seal from Am@zon the other day and it arrived today so fitted that. Just need to source a new sink plug fitting and that’s all the bathroom bits done myself I was thinking about getting an odd job man in to do.Mr SA is complaining about not feeling great and backache but seems ok-ish apart from that. Certainly not off his food 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
SA I and see that it’s not an easy situation, but if you end up injured Mr SA will also be worse off as a result - realistically, if you developed a back injury for example that meant you wouldn’t be able to bend down to clean up when needed, he would have no choice but to use incontinence wear 24/7. If you weren’t able to assist him in getting back to his feet when he fell, that could be even more extreme as that might mean he could no longer live at home. It’s better to deal with it now if you can rather than risking the worst happening and you having to face that latter option - as much as he does want social care involved he does have to understand that he has to have some consideration for you, too.
redo is right on the shouting I’m afraid - as wrong as it is that it has to be that way.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Glad to hear you are planning to ringing OT on Friday. Essex Hebridean is right as is redo. Unfortunately to get any help you have to shout long and loud which is why many people dont get the help they need.

Yumm the stir fry sounds nice. I keep thinking about getting an air fryer but still don't know if I would use it enough just for me.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201

Morning all, almost the weekend again, this week has flown by.
WFH again today but then that was always on the cards regardless of Mr SA's falls.
Mr M delivery has been and all packed away. Bargain of the week has to be the cat food. I originally ordered a box of 40 as it was on offer at £9.99. It was unsurprisingly out of stock so they subbed it for 2 x 12 pouch boxes at £5 each. My initial thought was that wasn't a fair exchange in my eyes so was going to send them back. Thankfully I checked my receipt and they'd discounted them by £8 so I only paid £2 for 24 pouches plus staff discount brought them down to £1.60 for 24 pouches 😁 I didn't realise it was increased staff discount today or I would've stocked up on some non perishables, oh well. I also had a voucher for £2 off yoghurt so ordered a tub of natural yoghurt for £1 and got £2 off. Bargain!
Today's exercise will be dog walking later this morning, a HIIT class at 12.30 and Zumba at 5.30.
Tonight's dinner is an old favourite spiced butternut squash stew.
House jobs are giving the kitchen a good clean, washing and ironing.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Good to hear of someone getting a bargain on cat meat atm. I don't think the high prices will ever fall back regardless of inflation rates.
