That’s the first full working week of the year done.Managed to get into the office today, not sure I’m more productive when I’m there as I seem to spend a lot of time talking to people about anything other than work 😆 Anyway it was nice to get out of the house.Rang the OT and long story short after they phoned back a couple of times they decided Mr SA was an urgent case and needed referring higher up the chain. OT will get involved if it transpires he needs equipment. They also recommended he has physio but that will be sorted by urgent care. Definitely glad I phoned them as the ball is now rolling.Finished work early, never do more than 6 hours on Fridays 😆 Popped into Lid! on the way home and have now qualified for the free bakery item. It’s DD’s birthday today and also would’ve been my mom’s birthday. When I was expecting my mom said wouldn’t it be good if the baby was born on my birthday. I said don’t be daft it’s not due until the beginning of February. Well she got her wish bless her, best birthday present she ever had she said ❤️
Won another lucky dip on Wednesday’s lucky dip for tomorrow’s Lotto so have two goes tomorrow 🤞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)11 -
What a lovely birthday present for your mum. I sometimes think these things happen for a reason. My sister passed away on my Dh birthday. I was obviously vey upset on the first anniversary but then decided it wasn’t fair for Dh to have his birthday defined in this way. So I always remember her fondly and raise a cuppa (she rarely drank alcohol but loved a China cup and saucer) to her whilst celebrating Dh birthday. It definitely helped me over the years.
I’m really pleased MR SA has been escalated to urgent. Hopefully things will be sorted soon.Happy birthday to Dd 🎂January spends - £587.587 -

That's really good to hear, SA. About the quick referral, I mean. Also about the birthdays - a great present for your mum and a continual day of celebration with your daughter sharing the day. I hope she's had a lovely day!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Great news they taking it seriously, you just need Mr SA to take it seriously !What a lovely way to share a birthday.
cat food sounds good, my princess is currently not happy as I’m using some old sachets of whiskas in jelly and poor love only likes it in gravy ! She’s letting us know her disapproval constantly, luckily she’s only a few sachets left 🤣🤣🤣Sealed pot challenge 822

Good news about Mr SA's referral. Hope they can get you both the right equipment and health care you need.
You are a champ SA.3 -
That's so good to hear that there will be some expert support for MrSA. I hope that their advice and interventions are presented to him as non negotiable so that he will comply. It's not easy to reach out and ask for help when you have battled on by yourself for a long time so well done to you.3

I think it's possible that people get used to the situation they find themselves in and changes can be very gradual, not drawing attention to themselves. So when Mr SA was first taken ill, it was a horrible shock. Then there must have been a lot of years of things being much the same day to day, with crises from time to time. One doesn't naturally stand back and evaluate what's changed over the last year or so, but sometimes something stands out that shows that something has changed, or maybe we ourselves have changed so we can't accommodate a situation as well as we did a while ago. So the battling on goes on. The very day-to-dayness of it, and the need to cope in the moment, are disguising the changes or the stress points that can be coped with but are slowly more and more wearing.

I was pleased to read that you are going to be getting an assessment & some help, @Sun_Addict. I wasn't meaning to sound judgmental when I asked whether you had ever had any training on lifting a person off the floor safely - It's just that when I was working, we had to go on a course just to learn how to pick up a cardboard box correctly, & when you also factor in that Mr SA may have fallen & not realized he has actually injured himself, I felt that there is too much onus on you to do something which could potentially be quite dicey. I expect he might be resistant to outside help at first, but I don't think there is anything wrong with saying that as neither of you are getting any younger (though I know how super-fit you are), the time has come to get someone in who can lift him safely, because you no longer feel that you can manage it.
Things sound like they might move quite swiftly though, & that is encouraging.

Thank you all for your comments 🙂
@foxgloves I can remember doing that training at work years ago and having to watch a video of someone tripping over an open filing cabinet drawer 😆 The trainer asked me what was the heaviest thing I picked up in the course of my work and I said a pen. He wasn’t amused but it was true 🤣
Today has just disappeared and I haven’t really accomplished anything. Got halfway to Mr T this morning when I realised I’d left my Clubcard at home so had to go back for it. Then I bumped into a neighbour so was chatting to her for a bit. Mr SA and the dog were already at Mr T by the time I caught up with them. Took the dog on the park on the way home then by the time we got back Mr SA was hungry and wanted his lunch. Just had time to clear away then DS and DIL came with the GKs. They’ve not been gone long.I still need to make myself a curry for tonight, I was originally going to make the roast cauliflower and lentil gunpowder curry again but Mr T’s cauliflowers were absolutely microscopic and definitely not worth 99p. Everyone was complaining. I think I’ll do a butternut squash and lentil one instead.A few days ago I was litter picking on the park and came across a little zip up bag that I think is for a roll of dog poop bags or dog treats. I put it on top of a bin so whoever had lost it could find it. I often get people coming up to me to say they’ve lost something on the park. Mr SA has just come shuffling in saying he had a present for me on his scooter and handed me aforementioned bag 🤦♀️I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4
