Happy new year.1

Morning all, happy Monday. Feels very neat and tidy to have the new year start on a Monday 🙂
Last day off work 😭
Didn’t wake up until after 6am this morning after my gallivanting until midnight 😆 I think I fell asleep around 10-ish, woke up at midnight then went to bed. Mr SA and the dog just left me there on the sofa.Plan for today is to take down the Christmas decorations, give the downstairs rooms a good clean, take the dog out then go out for lunch.I don’t make NY resolutions but there are a few things I’d like to achieve or make changes to. I will ponder on those and make a list although they’re probably the same things I aimed for but didn’t do last year 😆 I know I bought a journal with stickers last year with all sorts of grand intentions, I think that was abandoned mid January.Let’s hope 2024 is a good one for us all.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
Happy New Year xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -
The Christmas decorations are down and all packed up. The tree didn’t fit back into the box it arrived in 😐 For now it’s wrapped up in a black plastic sack, pondering on buying a tree bag. It took ages to take everything down and Mr SA was no help whatsoever. He didn’t want to go out for lunch and I wasn’t that bothered to be disappointed so today was an unexpected NSD 1 of January.Took the dog on the park which is getting more and more like a bog by the day with all the rain. The weather has been sunny today though.Watched the Rick Astley NYE concert this afternoon. Did a bit of kitchen dancing to it while I was making a batch of root veg and lentil soup for work lunches.Tonight’s dinner is scampi, sweet potato wedges and steamed veg - including sprouts 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Happy New Year SA! I've finally finished catching up with your diary which I'd last read back in September!😳
Reading about Mr SA's 10 year remission anniversary I must say again how much I admire how you've coped all these years. Here's to a very positive 2024 for all of you. And fingers crossed that Mr SA starts to slow down with the Pester Lists!🤞Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Morning all.
Back to work today but WFH. It's not very busy at the moment and I didn't have loads of emails to wade through thankfully.
Did loads of money shuffling first thing:
CC balance paid off in full just £3.60 pending
£200 to Nwide RS
£250 to Principality RS
£100 to Premium Bonds
£576.16 to YBS emergency fund to round it up (this was from the 1p savings challenge proceeds)
£5.73 interest from bank account to Christmas 2024 pot
£50 to vet pot
£50 to appliances pot
£20 to glasses pot
Cashed out PA survey money for December £37.91 this makes a total of £41.97 survey money for December. This has been sent to my fritter fund pot.
Another mortgage payment and £100 overpayment gone out.
Balances:
Mortgage £7775.48
Windows/door £145.30 (final payment at the end of this month)
Savings:
Emergency fund £5000.00
P regular saver £750.00
N regular saver £800.00
Premium Bonds £300.00
Christmas 2024 £81.14
I also have pots for fritter fund, holidays, home improvements, annual payments, entertainment, personal spends, glasses, vets and appliances replacement but I'm not including these as these vary and the list would go on forever 😆
Today's exercise plan is to take the dog out at some stage, the weather is very wet and grey here so will have to go between showers I think, bums & tums at lunchtime and resistance bands tonight.
It won't be a NSD as I need to pick up a loaf of bread. I moved the Mr M delivery to Thursday as bread was the only thing we really needed and it means I can add fresh stuff for the weekend.
It's the final week of my 4 week budget period and things are looking good for a very decent underspend.
I'm on a mission to use up freezer/cupboard stocks and have selected a portion of aubergine curry for my dinner tonight.
I think the next few days will be all about easing gradually back into a routine.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Never heard of the no washing on new years day before. I did two loads yesterday 🤣🤣🤣
As sad as it sounds I'm looking forward to getting back into the work routine again. Also looking forward to no alcohol for the rest of the week. Have Got a bit sick of it!4 -
Just popping on to say hello. You made me laugh with the Christmas tree not fitting back into its original packaging. Isn’t that always the way.I eased back into work today as well - here’s hoping it carries on although I am in London 3 days next week so probably not 😱.All your pots are very organised.L x1
