I don't do washing or throw out rubbish on new years day. The rubbish is so you don't throw away any luck. Bins have to wait until the 2nd.
  • Ooh didn't know that about the bins. Best get it out today then, if it stops raining

I didn't know about the washing or the bins - I can understand you'd want to avoid washing on NYD after your experience that year, SA. Admittedly I won't be purposefully observing either of them: bin day isn't tomorrow, and washing may depend on the weather (forecast is currently in favour) and whether I'm organised before we go to visit DS2 (far less likely).

Have a lovely New Year, and all good wishes for 2024.

My mom never sewed on any day 🤣 She just danced and played music. She didn’t really do cooking or cleaning either 😆
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I've never heard about washing or putting the bins out. I've decided not to risk it and did the washing tonight.

My bins do need emptying and bin day is Tuesday so they will need to go out tomorrow night. X
