    Morning, happy Monday.

Not the best start to the day/week as I noticed the heating wasn't one when I got up this morning. Further investigation resulted in finding the fuse had tripped in the kitchen so reset that. We now have hot water but no heating. I've spent ages fiddling with settings and the Hive thermostat but it seems as if it's online. I have BG cover so I called them and they are sending someone out tomorrow morning. Had to pay £60 excess. I have a feeling it will be something simple but I've checked the Hive, checked the boiler pressure and reset the boiler so not sure what else I can do. Just typical that it's cold and frosty again.

Thankfully I can WFH and get things sorted although I'll be freezing!

Not the start to the week that you would want especially with the weather. Hopefully the BG person can fix it quickly and you can see what they do in case it ever happens again.

    Balances update:

    Mortgage £10,399.08
    Additional borrowing £1,729.90
    Windows/door £1,709.62

    Christmas £112.11
    1p a day saving challenge £33.90
    Surveys £86.65

    P Regular Saver £500.00
    C Regular Saver £1800.00
    YBS Regular Saver £300.00
    Emergency fund £1770.00

Plus sinking pots of various amounts for holiday, house and personal spending. Plus the new 4 week budget pots.

Although I overspent by £30.45 on groceries in the last 4 week period, I had an overall underspend of £82.52 across the budget pots. New 4 week period starts today.

Sent £125 to the Princip@lity Regular Saver today. Hoping to send £200 to C0ventry Regular Saver in the next few days.

Did a quick Keep Fit with Rick walking workout to warm myself up a bit and get a few steps in. Going to keep moving about to keep warm. I hate being cold. Might go for a walk at lunchtime as it's such a lovely day, freezing cold though.

  • Those savings pots are building up nicely.  Hope the boiler gets fixed soon. I thought if you had BG cover they sent someone out the same day?  Maybe thats changed.  We cancelled ours quite a few years back and use a local plumber now. Shame the temperature has dropped this week too.

I hope the heating gets fixed soon and that you've been able to keep warm.

good progress on the savings pots.  I always find that having regular savings accounts makes me put the savings amount into my monthly budget as an actual rather than a hoped for amount of savings.
