I know what you mean about physical shops. We buy mostly online now, apart from the small indie gift shop in our village and the "sell everything cheapie shop", the farm shop, charity shops and the odd visit to Ad!*.Oh and Primarni when In can get there, as they always have stock...lol. I use Mr S online now and all the GKs presents were ordered online, a lot of them 2nd hand.
10 years, wow, hope he continues to stay in remission. My MIL started her chemo 10 years ago last week and fingers crossed, she is still going strong and in remission. But at her age, who knows what could happen.

Thanks for the link, @Sun_Addict. What a harrowing time you had. And what lovely support you had from fellow MSEers at the time.
So now you're into the second decade post-illness. You've come such a long way. It really makes me think about the importance of normality and thankfulness for everyday blessings.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Less steps today only 21,000 😆 I will get a more relaxing day tomorrow honestly.
Picked up two large joints of meat from Mr T half price which I’ll cut up and freeze for Mr SA.When DS and the GKs arrived Mr SA put a programme on he’d recorded about someone donating their body to medical science and showing a live dissection 🤦♀️ Well DGD was absolutely mesmerised by it and kept shushing anyone who dared to speak. It was so sad though the woman was just in her early 30s and absolutely riddled with cancer. In other morbid programme news can highly recommend Cause of Death on Channel 5. It’s really interesting.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -

It was good to see names of people who are still around on the forum as well as some I didn't recognise. I don't think people realise how much a kind word helps.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Morning all.Have been up for over an hour reading, drinking coffee and listening to relaxing music. The cats have been fed and have gone out. I think early mornings are my favourite part of the day - well at weekends, definitely not on work days!Should be a NSD today. No plans to go anywhere apart from taking the dog out. I quite fancy going for a street walk to look at Christmas decorations rather than a muddy park walk. The dog would prefer the muddy park though 😆
I can’t believe it’s 10 December already. Time is flying by! Received two Christmas cards yesterday so really must write mine out today and post them - all seven of them!Looking forward to putting my feet up and watching Love Actually this afternoon. I’ve saved some cava from last night for the occasion.Making roast gunpowder cauliflower & lentils for tonight’s dinner. I couldn’t find gunpowder spice anywhere so am making my own. There’s quite a range of recipes for it out there so have selected the most simple one. I will be cutting up and freezing the beef I bought for Mr SA yesterday so will pop a portion in the slow cooker for his dinner. Got leftover pizza and salad for my lunch.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -

Just catching up on your diary @Sun_Addict, and wanted to say congratulations to Mr SA for reaching 10 years in remission, as it's an admirable achievement.
I still can't get over your step count! If mine reaches over 1,000 I feel all excited 🤦🏾♀️. I really must move around more 😬.
I think I'm going to start working on Christmas 2024 savings as it all caught up with me this year, and I wasn't as prepared as I wanted to be.
