I keep my glasses on a cord round my neck now as I got fed up with having to keep retracing my steps.  It saves me dropping them too.  Last time I dropped them in the garden they landed on the concrete path & got a lens damaged.  That was when I got the cords.  Metal ones may look nicer but they damage your clothes.

@Cherryfudge - Yes, they are fine, thanks,  but he was not happy about me removing them!

That’s the worst of the working week done.

Thank you for all your tales of mislaid glasses and keys 🤣 The next time Mr SA “loses” his keys the first place I’ll look is round his neck. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it as it’s happened more than once before.

Worked in the office all day today. Didn’t get much done as seemed to spend most of the day trying to sort out IT issues and chatting to colleagues I hadn’t seen for a while aka “networking” 🤣 Apparently we are more productive when we’re in the office 🤔

Had a very early lunch break and went to Mr S and BnM. Quite productive visits as Mr S had 25% off Tu and I bought a long cardigan and a thermal vest. They also had a litre of Jack D for £20 so that’s DS’s Christmas present sorted. Used a £4.50 off £30 spend voucher too. Bought several bits of assorted Christmas tat from BnM - actually it’s nice tat 😆 They’re already selling Christmas stock off! Finally got a tree topper.

As my bags were quite heavy decided to get the bus home. What a nightmare that was and exactly why I don’t use public transport. The queue at the stop was horrendously long and I almost turned round to start walking but the bus pulled up. I took the last seat downstairs as didn’t fancy my chances upstairs with the heavy bags plus my work backpack. It ended up with so many people standing you couldn’t see where you were through the window! Then there was the stopping at every stop to let people on/off, the many traffic lights and generally very slow crawl through rush hour traffic 😖 It would’ve been quicker to walk! Don’t get me started on people who catch a bus for only 2 or 3 stops and are perfectly able bodied 😡

Despite not walking home I’ve still done 28,000 steps as did my usual Zumba class tonight as well as walking to work and Mr S.

Tonight’s dinner was quick and simple - lightly dusted lemon sole and steamed veg.

I realise that some people have hidden disabilities @PennysIntoPounds so apologies if that comment sounded harsh. It was just that a large amount people got off a couple of stops after the city centre including quite a few schoolchildren and the driver had turned away people trying to get on the stop before as the bus was full. I certainly won't be catching a bus again unless I absolutely have to.

  • Its like you never stop. I love how you manage to achieve so much, while still having to care for Mr SA.  And how on earth you managed 28000 steps yesterday is beyond me.  Wish I could do that many. I like to keep fit, but that is an awful lot of steps. Well done.
I know what you mean about being most productive early in the morning. I love to get up early and get on, but finding it a struggle now with the winter weather.

@Makingabobor2 it’s 8,000 steps each way to work although I didn’t walk home yesterday it’s a fair distance from the office to the bus stop then from the bus stop to my house. Then I had the walk to the shops and back to work which is a good 20 minutes each way. Then Zumba last night. That’s how they mount up.

My feet would be screaming if I was to cover the sort of mileage you do in a day SA - I ended up injuring myself after a prolonged period of walking somewhere about 10-12 miles a day during lockdown 2 just for something to do and so have had to accept that those sorts of mileages as a regular thing just aren't for me any more on a daily basis.
