Glad the dishwasher is sorted.
I will remember the PICNIC, I am sure that happens quite a lot!
(Including in this house). I wonder how often people get insurance to pay for a picnic?
It's useful to know Bek0 are good, thanks. And what a haul from B0ots! Plus you get points.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The tree surgeon who cut down our trees in the summer and said he’d return to quote for the conifers but didn’t has finally appeared. Anyway the upshot is he’s going to chop them all down and remove today them plus prune another tree for £450. The conifers have a disease so look awful and once gone will let a lot more light into the garden. I’d earmarked the area for growing vegetables next year so it needed doing. So a spendy day all in all but will be worth it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Forgot to say when he knocked on the door Mr SA couldn’t find the back gate key that’s with his scooter and house keys so I had to let the bloke come through the house. I then noticed the back gate wasn’t even locked and Mr SA’s keys were still in his scooter ignition from yesterday! Good job there was no one untoward prowling about last night 😩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

That will be amazing re the trees. When I got rid of mine which were holding up the back fence 😞, the difference in light was huge.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Oh wow - you won't know yourselves once the conifers are finally gone!
PICNIC error is one of my favourites in the IT World - I also like the ID-10-T error that an IT chap I used to know years ago was fond of telling people about....
Eek to the keys too - glad you spotted them before anyone else did!
I did take a look at the S&G gift, but there is too much ion there that I either already have a stockpile of (Righteous Butter, I'm looking at you!) or that I won't use. I do love their body washes though - and might make use of a 3 for 2 deal at some stage to be able to stock up.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you for the picnic! I am looking forward to the next time I can tell DS I have committed one. Which happens almost daily. Well I have to do something to keep him out of mischief. That's my excuse anyway.

With the insurance be careful and maybe check that they will actually replace the whole cost of a new machine if and when needed. I had a similar insurance on my washing machine. They were fantastic at repairing it each time and I had nearly all the parts replaced at one time or another. When the day came that they could no longer repair, because of its age, they would only offer me a small percentage of the costs to buy another. I like you thought that they would replace my machine like for like at no extra cost to me. That was not the case. I will never pay insurance for white goods again, and instead put the money aside each month.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Glad you have a better policy than I did. Mine went down in % every year after 5 years I believe and I had had the machine for at least 15 yearsMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well it looks so much better without the dead conifers. Glad I had it done. This year’s home improvements pot was primarily for the outside of the house so gradually ticking things off the list. When I set up the regular savers one is always the home improvements pot and the other one gets added to the emergency fund.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
