Any big garden centres near you with a P@vers concession? There's one in a garden centre in a neighbouring county which I have occasionally visited. Long shot, I know. I am the same re needing to try on. The reason I have a fab pair of expensive walking boots I rarely wear is exactly because I bought them online during 1st Lockdown without trying them on. I won't ever buy footwear online again.
Glad you had a nice day yesterday.

@foxgloves no I don’t think the ones near us do, certainly not the one we go to regularly. However a 20 minute train ride away is another city centre that does have a P@vers so might be worth the trip. I work literally across the road from the train station here so could even pop there on an extended lunch break.

The GKs aren’t coming today. I’m a bit cross with Mr SA as he rang DS and told him I was hungover from yesterday lunchtime - I had ONE glass of Prosecco!! I ended up speaking to DS as I didn’t want him to think this was true and the upshot is he’d been at work all morning and was happy to postpone.

Mr SA has had written confirmation he doesn’t need to complete a self assessment return so at least that’s cleared up. They did say as Mr SA uses my email address I should double check that the request isn’t meant for me as they sometimes ask people on PAYE to complete one. Will check next week when I’m in work mode.

At least I’ve gained a couple of hours to catch up on things now. Already tested out the new iron and ironing board and I’m happy with them.

I will be feeling some ironing pain later today, for the first time since the very first lock down.  I just hope it is still working & doesn't singe anything.  The usual problem after a while is that the steam bit starts spitting.  It is surprising what you can get away with if you are careful & DS is no longer wearing shirts & suit trousers.

I’ve seen one on Am@zon that comes in just three parts. Very tempted. We used to have real trees, they’re lovely but … The tree we’ve got at the moment looks great when it’s up but has loads and loads of individual branches colour coded that don’t always fit in their slot and takes forever to put up. Then there’s the ordeal of the lights. Mr SA used to do the lights but this has fallen to me and I don’t have the patience.

I’ve managed to get a fair bit done and, brace yourselves, Mr SA has been productive and cleared out the soak away in the drive - shock! It hurt his back so he’s resting now.

I left the broken ironing board out in the drive for the scrapman but it has been taken by a student who is currently ironing on the floor 😬 He thinks he can fix it with a soldering iron so good luck to him.

@dawnybabes 🤣🤣 They do the job and that’s all that matters 🤣🤣

I'm just amazed at a student ironing, times have obviously changed.
