The jury is out on the hooping class. The instructor just doesn’t have the personality of the other instructors. She’s nice enough but mmm … I felt for her as there were only a few of us there, it must be disappointing for her.

    Morning all, happy Tuesday.

WFH today and the Mr M delivery arrived and was all put away before 7am.

I've got the hairdressers at 9am, it's only at the end of my road so not far to go.

Transferred £1250 to the emergency fund from RS funds. I think I'm going to move the 1p saver money into there too as the interest rate is slightly better than where they are now.

Today's exercise is walking to/from the hairdressers, bums & tums at lunchtime, taking the dog on the park this afternoon and resistance bands tonight. Mr SA will have to be on morning taking the dog on the park duty as I won't have time.

Tonight's dinner is the final portion of veg lasagne from the freezer with a salad.

I need to clean the bathroom, hall and bedroom in some time between finishing work and the resistance bands class.

  • I've not tried hula hooping for years, it's definitely a knack though.

I've had the monthly statement from 0ct0pus and the credit is starting to go down now which I expected. Still £590 in credit though. There was an opportunity to fix for a year but there's a £75 fee for exiting the current tariff which put me off.

I'm tempted but the £75 exit fee plus the monthly DD would go up by £25. Need to think about it.

That's Wednesday almost done. Have been in the office until just after lunch and now back home to finish up. Last day in the office this week as WFH Thursday and Friday.

A lovely sunny day but very cold and windy. My hair kept blowing over my face on the walk home, I couldn't see where I was going!

Money wise a £9 oddment has been sent to the Christmas 2024 pot. Not a NSD as I stopped off at Lid! on the way home and have also paid for the wheelie bin wash.

Today's exercise is walking to/from work and a Zumba class at 6pm.

Smoked haddock fishcake with steamed veg for dinner.

Morning all, happy Friday eve 😎

WFH today and I have a dental check up later this morning. Planning to hot foot it down to Lid! straight afterwards as they not only have the thermal leggings and jeans back in stock today but also 25% off via the app. They tend to sell out of the small sizes fast so need to get there as soon as I can. I did think about going when they first open at 8am but from past experience they often haven't put out the special offers that early. I have hit the £50 spend for a free bakery item so can pick up a loaf while I'm there.

Today could potentially be fairly spendy as we have an offer at work where we can buy a gift for Curry$ at a decent discount and the bluetooth over ear headphones I've been looking at have gone down in price since last week. I'm currently using in ear wired ones but my ears don't like having anything in them and keep spitting them out - this is why I won't buy ear buds, I'd just lose them. I also planned to buy a steam cleaner, I've already got a brilliant steam mop, but this is a steam cleaner you can clean tiles, windows, etc with. I wanted one that wasn't hand held, more like a cylinder hoover. I've had one before and it was brilliant. Mr SA is also making noises about needing a new electric shaver as he's tried the razor and blades thing and got fed up of the faff, I knew this would happen. I bought him a decent razor and what should've been, in theory, a year's worth of blades in the summer. He used them all up with a few weeks! He wouldn't accept you have to use them a few times before throwing them away. He's a nightmare with shavers, always has been. I'm not spending a lot on one though as he breaks them, £50 tops.

So if I can buy the gift card via work it would save a fair bit. I'll also go through TCB or Quidco.

Today's exercise will be walking to the dentists, then Lid!, then back home, a lunchtime upper body workout and Zumba tonight. Mr SA will have to be on taking the dog on the park duties again as I can't fit all this lot in and do a day's work otherwise!

Tonight's dinner is an old favourite recipe - one pan harissa prawn orzo.

Mr SA must be costing you a fortune in razor blades - the one DH buys are very good but really expensive, and they certainly don't get thrown out after one or two uses. :o

You are tempting me to a steam cleaner... they do sound good but how often would I use it? Mind you, as soon as I thought that, I remembered the bathroom ceiling which has developed mould in the last week - it's the damp weather, and airing it hasn't kept it at bay. I expect it's good on tiles, too.

You won’t need to change your DD unless you felt that you need to. If fixing now, there is a possibility that there would be a bit of an overall cost increase, when I fixed a few weeks back the fix was at the same cost as the current capped rates, but I believe that’s changed now. I’d think that would be unlikely to be as much as £300 a year extra though.
