Removing the trees has highlighted some of the fence panels between us and next door need replacing. Technically they belong to next door but we often go halves with them and they fetch them and put them up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I was puzzled as to why the closed Cov account money hadn’t hit the bank account after allegedly closing it yesterday. Just been in to check and it was still open! So closed it again and the money should hopefully transfer tomorrow now. What a faff!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

The problem with next door having to pay for replacement fencing is that you have to live with looking at it. That alone can make it worthwhile sharing. Around here we have always done the pay for the correct side yourself but I think I may need to go at least halves with next door if I want to have really nice fencing. They are not being awkward or anything it is just new mortgage, new young family so only one working. I think at some point next year it may come down to a do you mind if I? type conversation. To let them think they are doing me a favour by letting me...

We’ve always gone halvsies too (although at our last place we got stuck paying for them all
on our own) fencing is literally a divisive issue (sorry for dad joke)

We have been lucky never to have fences to contend with.
It was all privet hedges at our old house. The new one is all walls which we own. No shared boundary.1 -
I have only one shared boundary.Went half & half last time. Will hopefully see me out.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. That’s another working week done.I’m absolutely shattered tonight. Worked in the office and finished at 2pm. Called in at the train station, M&S and Lid! on the way home. Just about had enough time to drop my bags off at home before going back out again to have my nails and eyebrows done.Got back home and it was time for my Zumba class. After that it was cooking the dinner, clearing up and cleaning round. Finally sitting down 🥱
The money from the closed Cov account is finally in the current account.I’m off work tomorrow for a day out with friends involving a train ride, shopping and lunch. Really looking forward to it.Going to watch Monday’s Jamie Oliver programme then going to bed. I think I’ll sleep well tonight!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
