It's worth getting the eye scan done at some point - mine picked up a problem with the blood supply to one eye which hadn't existed in earlier scans and I ended up under a consultant for a few years and on aspirin permanently. Not what you want to happen but the alternative was the potential to loose the sight in that eye and be in permanent pain.
Of course that's not saying anything's going to happen, but there was no history of anything with me so I know things can come out of the blue, but if Mr SA can't or won't have it done, he won't and that's it.
Hope you get through Primarni okay, it sounds awful!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I hope all goes well today. I always have the scan and as cheryfudge says you never know what it will pick up. Would it be easier for you to get mr SAs eye test done at home? I have no idea how to go about it but might be worth pursuing for next time.2

We’re back home now thank goodness, although we need to go back next week to pick his new glasses up. They didn’t mention the scan. I must say Specs@vers were very quick and efficient we were in there about 40 minutes at the most. I go to B00ts and they were dire last time I went. So dire I still haven’t been back to choose my new reading glasses almost a year later. Seriously thinking of changing especially as I can get free VDU glasses from there via work.@ladyholly at home appointments are worth looking into for him. He doesn’t need to go back for two years thankfully. The Primani visit wasn’t too bad and he only spent £30 on a pair of joggers and some cargo trousers. It was really busy though and full of people totally oblivious to what planet they were on just walking out in front of his scooter. The amount of people who just wander around looking at their phones completely unaware there are other people in the world besides them 🤬
My heart sank when he wanted to go in Sp0rts Direct next for a baseball cap. I hate going in this shop even more than Primani.Anyway he’s got what he wanted so he’s happy. We didn’t bother with lunch in the end. I picked up a baguette for him on the way home and I had leftover pizza from last night. Everywhere was really busy, there were loads of students about and it looks like there was a football match on as we saw loads of people in football tops.Shame we have to go back next week but he’s got to sign the NHS voucher for free glasses. It will be literally straight there and back this time though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -

The bit I really don't like about eye tests - choosing new glasses. How do you choose new glasses when you can't see what they look like in the mirror when you try them on. It used to be alright because I used to take my mother with me, but I don't have anyone now & my son is about as much use for that as a chocolate fireguard. As in do I look alright, yes of course says he, then I wonder if my skirt is tucked in my knickers.

My mum has appointments at home from Specsavers. They then deliver the glasses and return if they need adjusting. Its a good service and I don't think there is a charge.

Glad you survived the shopping! I'm sure the people who wander in front of mobility scooters only ever have one collision: you'd know about it if one ran over your foot or knocked you over.
Buying glasses - I take photos of me wearing them and send it to the family as I find it really hard to choose frames.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
