This came up on a random FB suggestion. OMG I remember my mum getting one of these for a Christmas present when I was a child! Also brings back memories of her drinking snowballs but only at Christmas 😉I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Sun_Addict said:Saved Monday’s Jamie Oliver programme for tonight on All 4 and what a nightmare with Mr SA and anything on catch up - he can’t grasp the concept he can’t flick through channels when the adverts come on and he turned it into quite a stressful experience 😖Talk about at the stroke of midnight on 31 October Halloween becomes Christmas - the Christmas adverts seem to have been unleashed big time!1

Morning happy Saturday 🥂
I need to get the housework done today as we’re in town tomorrow for Mr SA’s eye test. He’s moping around like a wet weekend in Bognor and keeps saying he’s dreading it. Reminded him it’s an eye test not major surgery! The Principality RS has matured today and the money has arrived in the bank minus £250 to start off the new one. I didn’t think it would transfer today with it being a Saturday. The dishwasher stopped working yesterday, it seems to be stuck in a cycle. I tried leaving it unplugged overnight but it’s still the same. It’s on an extended warranty plan so have booked in a repair for next week. It’s the first time it’s ever gone wrong and it’s 7 years old so can’t moan. Not looking forward to washing dishes by hand but at least it’s only for a few days, hopefully.I’m doing a ClubFit class in a bit then will be off out to the local shops. I need to see if the CS will take the bags of donations too. The dog will need a walk too.The weather forecast looks very wet today after it being so lovely yesterday. We seem to be getting one sunny day then a rainy day the next. Fortunately tomorrow looks sunny so will be dry for our trip into town. This is why I won’t change Mr SA’s appointment no matter how much he moans.Tonight’s dinner is pizza and salad. Rose cava already in the fridge for watching Strictly later 💃I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Have a good day SA, hope you get everything done and stay dry.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.1

Managed to get the shopping done and the dog on the park before the rain started in earnest. It’s been really miserable since lunchtime, dark, wet and gloomy. I put my fairy lights on to cheer myself up.I’ve done some cleaning and ironing but have mainly been sitting on the sofa in the dining room reading my book with the dog curled up beside me. Not been completely lazy as I’ve done 17,000 steps 🙂
Mr SA went back to bed after lunch and emerged 4 hours later so it’s been lovely and peaceful.
A lot of local firework displays have been cancelled due to the weather but I can hear a few fireworks going off. I guess most people will wait until tomorrow as the forecast is dry.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
Morning happy Sunday.Have been up for an hour enjoying reading my book and relaxing before today’s trip into town. We need to leave the house before 9am to have time to go for a coffee before Mr SA’s eye test. Not looking forward to sitting in the opticians for an hour and arguing with them that there is no point trying to sell him varifocals as he doesn’t even use his reading glasses and no he doesn’t want to pay £10 for a separate scan 🙄 He gets a free eye test and free glasses, that’s all he wants.I’ve already spent 99p on a six months trial of the BBC GF app. I used to have this app when it was free but stopped using it when they started to charge for it. I thought 99p for six months is good. Must make a note to cancel it unless I absolutely love it. There is a mention of the magazine and the app becoming one subscription which would be a lot fairer. I’ve already bookmarked a recipe for tonight’s dinner. It will be quite a spendy day with coffees and probably lunch out too. Mr SA wants to go in Primani which is about the only shop in the city centre that’s accessible for his huge mobility scooter. Not looking forward to that either he’s a nightmare in there. No doubt he’ll come out with a load of joggers and sweatshirts. At least the forecast is dry today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Sounds like today has the potential to be a nightmare of a day for you!
Good luck.0 -
Eye test and Primarni with Mr SA in a large mobility scooter sounds awful to me too. Good luck and hope you have a nice glass of wine waiting for you at home.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
