On the Halloween topic, when I was a young whippersnapper, I remember a teacher saying that if you looked out of the window at midnight on Halloween you turned into dust. This traumatised me for years 🤣 I’m pretty certain they wouldn’t be allowed to say this now 😐I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

We went to our big town yesterday and Halloween was all around. I think it's getting more Americanised every year , which I am sure some people will love .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0

I quite fancy a trip into town as I believe there are big monsters around. I’m a big kid and quite like seeing the places dressed up. There was a Halloween trail around here over lockdown and it’s carried on - it has its own fb page and people post if their house is decorated then folk wander around seeing the dressed houses. Some have been dressed so long I’m wondering if they’ll last until Halloween. I don’t answer the door other than on the day itself until about 8pm. It must cost a bomb for some of the elaborate decorations. I have a pot pumpkin that must be 35 years old…..cost me 99p and it’s comes out every year 😂😂January spends - £587.581

If you aren't careful you'll be quoted in Martin's blog along with the warning that Christmas (surprise, surprise) comes every 25th December, but still takes some of us by surprise.

We are the grinch when it comes to halloween. I think all our neighbours are used to it by now but we do have a sign that I fix to to the glass panel in the front door. It is mainly so the dog (in previous years multiple dogs) dont go nuts and disturb the single lady next door. While terraced houses are good for heat sharing they arent so good with noise from neighbours.

Ladyholly I will join you in grinch-ness. Absolutely no issues with people wanting to do stuff in their own homes or around groups of agreeable friends for halloween if they have small children, but certainly where we used to live we used to get gangs of teenagers round during the evening - and that I'm having none of I'm afraid. Curtains will be drawn once I'm home from work tomorrow evening!
SA very glad that MrSA didn't suffer any ill effects from his fall - and thank goodness to DD being there and able to help! Hopefully your own aches and pains aren't bothering you too much now either.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

DS wanted to go trick or treating but I said that now DD2 is out of primary school, they just look scary due their size rather than because of the cute costumes. I have now started buying a few treats and put it in their old buckets they used to take round.
Also when they were little and had a huge amount of sweets, I used to 'borrow' some of them for their advent calendar as they have refillable ones. Also reduced halloween sweets in the supermarket are used a lot.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
