Happy Saturday 🥂
What an odd day weather wise, damp and foggy this morning and warm and sunny this afternoon.Met DS and the GKs at the local pub that has the brilliant Halloween decorations. The GKs enjoyed themselves as there were quite a few other kids there and we acquired a toddler who kept stroking DGSs hair 😆 It was funny to hear DGD say she doesn’t like babies, she wasn’t at all amused by the toddler 🤣
Yet another spendy day as I bought the drinks. I noted a round was almost the same price as one glass of wine at yesterday’s venue. When the GKs left to head home home I left Mr SA in the pub finishing his pint while I popped to the nearby big Mr T. Left him in the man crèche 🤣
We left the dog at home but she’d already had a good run on the park beforehand.Tonight’s dinner is veggie burger, wedges and salad.Rose cava chilling in the fridge for Strictly.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Happy Sunday. Nice sunny start to the day here.
I hate it when the clocks go back/forward. Totally throws me out.I have a very long to do list for today. I’ve not managed to get much done the past couple of days so playing catch up. The aim is to get everything done by 3pm when I’m going to put my feet up and watch Hocus Pocus. The 1993 film not the new one, I’m not keen on the new one.Not going any further than the park across the road with the dog.I’ve got a ton of washing, goodness knows how I’m going to dry it all and I still need to change the bedding 😩
Trying a new recipe for tonight’s dinner Aubergine caponata with cannellini beans. Recipe is from the Waitr0se magazine. Also making a batch of spicy carrot and lentil soup for next week’s work lunches.Off to tackle the list now…I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

Thanks for the reminder about the original Hocus Pocus I shall try and find it and watch it on Tuesday afternoon as a special "now I'm retired" treat.1

Ticked everything off my to do list and finally clocked off to watch Hocus Pocus at 3.15. Then it was time for a relaxing bath with a face pack. After that it was time to make the soup and aubergine caponata, which was lovely but didn’t have pine nuts so just left them out.Mr SA alerted me to the fact that there were trick or treaters about but reminded him as it’s not officially Halloween until Tuesday I won’t be answering the door. They didn’t knock in the end. I am partly dreading Tuesday as we get loads of trick or treaters and the constant knocking drives the dog nuts. On the other hand I love to see the kids dressed up and they’re so polite and grateful for the sweets. The cut off point is 7pm I don’t answer the door after that.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Not looking forward to Halloween truth be told. It drives the dog mad.
I'm tempted to just go out somewhere after work and come home later when they have gone!2
