  • @Makingabobor2 it works really well. I have never had an issue since I first started using it, and I was really cautious at the start. I only transferred £1 to see if it worked and it was there within 20 minutes.
You open the zopa app, say you want to add money, it will ask where from (you will already have input one or more bank accounts) so you select and how much and into which pot, then it transfers you to your other account to verify that, and back again. And within 20 minutes the money will be in your pot. I love seeing the little amounts add up as my sinking funds and it reminds me of being little and going to the post office with my book to be made up with interest when the monthly interest is added - little things!
Dos it work ok when you want to get your money out though? I'd read about people not being able to get to their funds when needed and then couldn't get hold of any customer service people to help. Maybe I'm just over cautious....lol

Delurking to suggest putting your Christmas savings into the Yorkshire Christmas Saver. You can put in between £1 and £300 a month until October 31st and the interest rate is 4.5%. I saw it recommended on the Savings Board here and it took less than 5 mins to sign up to this afternoon!
Thanks for the recommend.  I have just opened one and transferred my first deposit to it.  I already have Yorkshire BS accounts but hadn't seen the Christmas Saver suggested on the savings board yet.

Thank you 😃 I’ve just looked at that one and will definitely open an account, the easy access account is decent interest and will be a good place to put the rest of my sinking funds.

Yes we have a lot of our savings in their instant access accounts.  Lower than the regular saver but 2.85% is not bad considering you can get to it whenever.

@Makingabobor2 I can only speak for myself and have never had an issue taking money out or frankly with any of it, but you are sensible to be cautious with hard earned money.

I did open a YBS regular saver for Christmas 23 as well

Thanks - I've opened one too. As it's less than a year it works out as about three quarters of the 4.5% if I understand rightly, but it's payable daily and still a good rate.
