joeyjimbles said:@Makingabobor2 it works really well. I have never had an issue since I first started using it, and I was really cautious at the start. I only transferred £1 to see if it worked and it was there within 20 minutes.
You open the zopa app, say you want to add money, it will ask where from (you will already have input one or more bank accounts) so you select and how much and into which pot, then it transfers you to your other account to verify that, and back again. And within 20 minutes the money will be in your pot. I love seeing the little amounts add up as my sinking funds and it reminds me of being little and going to the post office with my book to be made up with interest when the monthly interest is added - little things!Making the debt go down and savings go up

Delurking to suggest putting your Christmas savings into the Yorkshire Christmas Saver. You can put in between £1 and £300 a month until October 31st and the interest rate is 4.5%. I saw it recommended on the Savings Board here and it took less than 5 mins to sign up to this afternoon!7

@Makingabobor2 I can only speak for myself and have never had an issue taking money out or frankly with any of it, but you are sensible to be cautious with hard earned money.

Happy Sunday.
It’s been a beautiful sunny day here so took the dog for a long walk this morning.Gave the house a good clean upstairs as I did downstairs yesterday.Did a relaxing yoga session then had a lovely soak in the bath.Next week’s meal plan will be based on what I’ve got in stock as it’s the final week of the 4 week budget period and I’m in danger of going over budget on the groceries if I don’t go carefully this week. I have loads in stock so very do-able. Tonight’s dinner is orange and soy glazed salmon with pak choi and lots more stir fried veg. Recipe is out of a Good Food magazine. You’ll be pleased to hear Mr SA’s lypsyls arrived 🥳On the money front today was NSD 9 and I’ve cashed out £11.06 of survey money so over my target of £10 a week. I’m now off to open the Christmas saver account.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

Pr1nc1pality is a decent option for a regular saver as well - and might be good for people with lower amounts to save as limited to £125 per month as I recall.
Then of course for anyone with a FD account their regular saver is a bit of a no-brainer.
Can't vouch for Zopa although I know they are popular over on the savings board - I've got some fixed rate savings in Atom though and have found their app pretty decent - certainly easy to open accounts and make deposits, I've not yet tried to take any money out though.
SA adding a vote here that I would have clumped MrEH with the remote if he'd turned a TV on at 3am! Having said that, we don't have a TV in the bedroom so that solves that problem!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
