    Morning all, happy Thursday.

WFH today so another lovely relaxing start to my working day with my book and a coffee. The weather is forecast to be dry so the laundry basket will be emptied. Currently one load out and another in the machine.

I'm really struggling to get up now the mornings are dark. When I'm in the office ideally I need to be up at 5am but just lately it's been nearer 6am so I'm not getting there until 8 when I like to be there as close to 7 as possible. I've had to go back to setting an alarm on office days.

Mr M delivery coming later. This week had a voucher for £1.50 off dairy so that's paid for the milk plus 30p in profit. Usual 15% discount. It's a fairly big shop this week as we were running out of a few things. I've also ordered a 2kg bag of red lentils for £3.99 as I get through a fair amount and realised it's cheaper to buy in bulk.

A new tab on my budget spreadsheet has been added for the next round of regular savers with rows numbered 1 to 12 so I don't lose track again. Should've done this last time but then I've never had that many on the go before.

Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, a live lunchtime stretch and tone class, 10 minutes Pilates and live Zumba at 7pm.

Making spiced butternut squash stew with herb dumplings for dinner. Subbing the pumpkin in the recipe for  squash and won't be using an egg as I absolutely loathe eggs with a passion 🤢 I haven't got parsley so will use dried rosemary as this works really well in the dumplings. I've made this stew many times and it's delicious.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Just catching up with diaries. Sounds like you have had a lot going on.
  • Have a good day.  i know what you mean about the dark mornings? Have you tried one of those sunlight alarm clocks so that it simulates the sunrise and you wake more naturally? I find them better than a proper alarm

No because I don't want to wake Mr SA up. I'm fine with the alarm on my FitBit. Having said that he stirs when I'm drying my hair but drops off back to sleep.

  • Yes, its hard when only one of you needs to get up.

  • Yes, its hard when only one of you needs to get up.
Even harder when you really don't want the other one to wake up early for various reasons!

That sounds like a decent price for the lentils SA - I'll need to check on our levels of various things like that at some stage - I'll probably need to refill some of the storage tins this weekend so that should prompt me to check stocks too.
