Jeez what a nightmare that was 😞 Mr SA crashed the courtesy scooter 4 times on the way to the retail park and broke a chunk off the mud guard. Then he lost control of the steering and went sailing over the pavement kerb into the main road. Luckily there weren’t any cars coming at the time as it’s a very busy road normally. I insisted he went back home but he wouldn’t go.
Thankfully the rest of the trip went fairly smoothly, the paint was purchased with not much change from £200 but there was a lot to get and I’m done with buying cheap paint that doesn’t last long.
I made Mr SA take it steady on the scooter on the way home as it was loaded up with several pots of paint. Goodness knows how we did it but we eventually made it home.
The tablets had worn off by this stage and my throat was so sore. Just topped them up so feeling slightly better for now.
Mr SA has gone to bed to watch Lawrence of Arabia and I’m sat on the sofa with the dog reading.
He’s still not right at the moment because alongside the scooter issues he asked me why we aren’t using the painter we normally use - we are 🤷♀️Looking forward to putting my feet up tonight with pizza, Prosecco and The Voice.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪4 -
Oh no, that sounds like a horribly hairy scooter expedition.
It does sound very much like you are incubating a lergy. I hope you can see it off at the sore throat stage. Do you have lemons, honey & fresh ginger root with which to blast it? Mr F thought he might be starting the first signs of a lergy earlier this week but it didn't come to anything for which I was grateful as he's a terrible patient - not the 'man-flu' type, in fact the opposite as he point-blank refuses to believe he's ill.

I must say the cold brew tea straight out of the fridge feels so soothing on my throat as does the cold Prosecco. I’m absolutely shattered so will be off to bed when The Voice has finished. I kept falling asleep this afternoon.
It took me ages to choose the paint. I just couldn’t make my mind up. In the end I went for a pale grey/green for the kitchen and a very pale lemon for the hall/stairs/landing. Also had to buy white paint for the bathroom ceiling and masonry paint for the bit between the bay windows outside. Then I decided to buy some coloured paint to spruce up the banisters as a change from white. I’m painting those though.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪3 -
I like the sound of your paint choices. Hopefully you’ll feel a bit better tomorrow after an early night.

Morning all.
Still not feeling great but it feels like a cold is breaking out so hopefully the aching and sore throat will go soon. I feel ok at the moment as I’ve just had 2 cold/flu tablets with a coffee.
Was in bed just before 9pm and slept like a log.
DD has just gone to work so the plan is to give the house a good clean. Must remember to check the tops of the kitchen cabinets for dust and dead flies before the painter arrives 😆I’ve got the free electricity hour at 12 so planning to bake a banana loaf and do a load of washing. I’ll also make lunch at this time.
I’m going to do a nice yoga stretch to soothe my aches shortly. Other exercise will be dog walking and general pottering.
Mr SA and the dog are still fast asleep and the cats have been fed so all is peaceful for now.
Tonight’s dinner is a portion of nut roast from freezer stocks with baby potatoes and steamed vegetables. Making a veggie mushroom gravy to go with the nut roast from a Tinned Tomatoes recipe. I have leftover pizza and salad for lunch. There’s also plenty of Prosecco left as I fell asleep before I finished the first glass last night.
Won £1 on last night’s lottery.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪5
