The scammer who phoned me last year knew a lot of my credit card details including the card number plus the last 2 (but not 3) digits of the security code on the back. I was already suspicious. The scammer picked up on this & started offering a series of measures he could put in place to increase anti-fraud measures on my account. These were so OTT & increasingly ridiculous, it just confirmed it was a scam. The learning message from it for me was that he didn't get my name quite right at the beginning of the call (it's double-barrelled & I do often have to correct it esp as it's a different name from Mr F) & I voluntarily corrected it for him which gave him more info. Next time I'll listen to more of the spiel as it did soon become obvious it was a scam. No money taken as I think we all know not to send passcodes & that's what he was after.

I'm glad Mr SA didn't get caught by them as I would imagine he'd be quite vulnerable to it.

Afternoon all, happy Friday.

WFH again today.

The Mr S delivery arrived first thing, just one sub which was fine, having said that it was only a small order.

End of the week finance check done and cc balance cleared. Decided to close off the 4 week budget period today instead of Sunday as no spending from those particular pots will be done this weekend just got paint to buy which comes from the home improvements pot.

There was a small underspend of £22.00 in the groceries pot, £2 went to the Christmas pot and £20 to the stock up pot.

Across the other 3 spending pots (Mr SA, Entertainment and House) there was a total underspend of £90.58. £40 has gone to Mr SA's spends, £40 to Entertainment and £10.58 to Christmas. There was only 4p left in the house/garden pot 😆

Blocked out 30 minutes to sort out some niggly jobs that I'd kept putting off:

• Double check that a magazine subscription had indeed expired before buying a new one - it had expired in July so have re-subscribed 12 issues for £24.99 which will come out of the subscriptions pot. Noted the expiry date I need to cancel by.
• Book the old cat in for free blood tests covered by the pet plan. Done.
• Book Mr SA's dental check up - not done the surgery closes Friday afternoons.
• Ring Yumove as the dog's digestive care and joint care tablets subscription seems to have gone out of synch - not done as they are also closed Friday afternoons.
• Ring Pension Wise to change pensions call to a day I'm WFH - done and I also got some advice during the call, they sound really helpful. To be honest I've more or less made up my mind what I want to do but it would be good to discuss options. It will also give me more time to try and log onto that pesky work pensions portal.

Still need to have another go at logging onto the work pensions portal. Thank you Cr@pita for making what was once an easy job almost impossible 🤬

Today's exercise: dog walking (done), Zumba (done), yoga (to do) and strength training at 5pm.

Tonight's dinner is a new recipe from the Deliciously Ella app spaghetti and veggie 'meatballs'. The veggie balls are made from tempeh which will use up a bit I had left in the freezer.

Try emailing YuMove, they responded on a Saturday after my recent Friday afternoon email.

Royal Mail had played ping-pong with my doggies regular order for over a week, taking so long that I had to buy a box from Pets@Home. YuMove sent a new batch, which came before half the original batch made it through the letter box. I told YuMove and said to bill me for what had arrived, but they declined and were very apologetic despite it not being their fault.

I finally got logged on to the work pensions portal and have an up to date statement 🥳 Annoyingly had to use an email account I don’t use as a rule but at least I’ve got my mitts on it. I’ve requested paper statements going forward. Not telling Mr SA what my Death in Service payment is or he’ll be bumping me off 😆

Started to feel a bit rough late afternoon, bit snuffle, bit achy, bit of a sore throat. Had a nice soak in the bath after strength training. Not had any illness for absolutely ages so hopefully it will do one overnight. I haven’t got time to be out of sorts. I was fine this morning 🤷‍♀️

Thank you. They seem to be trying to send me more joint tablets than digestive ones. I keep pausing the joint ones but need to sort it so both arrive at the same time. Not 100% sure with the joint tablets but the digestive ones definitely work.

Remembering the attacks on the World Trade Centre 25 years ago. I was at work and meeting and greeting customers to a meeting. I remember hearing the news and informing them of what had happened. They were so shocked and looking at me in astonishment. Colleagues were trying to find out more but the internet had crashed. One of those days you never forget 😢

Morning all, happy Saturday.

Still felt rough this morning but have taken vitamin C and zinc and two cold/flu tablets and feel slightly better. I rarely take tablets as I don’t get aches and pains or feel unwell usually. I was surprised to find any left as Mr SA is a serial pill popper and is a devil for putting empty packs back in the box.

I could do without it but I need to go to the retail park and fetch paint this morning. I could go on the bus but Mr SA is looking forward to going because it involves BnQ and he also associates it with a Gr£ggs coffee and sausage roll. Just realised I still have a free birthday sweet treat on the app.

I’ve got a long list of how much paint to get, hope it will all fit on Mr SA’s scooter. It will be an expensive morning 😬
