Afternoon all, happy Monday.
I only worked in the office for a couple of hours as I was having issues with the mouse not going on the screen I wanted it to, this never happens at home! Everything was taking forever and I was getting so frustrated with it so decided to pack up and WFH.
Got Mr SA to meet me at Lid! and finally redeemed the free bakery treat coupon.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work, live Zumba at 6pm and live Zumba Lift at 7.15. The Zumba Lift is a new class and a cross between Zumba and strength training - really looking forward to this.
Tonight's dinner is leftover mushroom masala from Saturday.
Monday finance check done and cc balance cleared. An oddment of £17.94 went to the Christmas pot.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪5 -
Realised it's quite an eventful week ahead:
- Meeting my friend tomorrow for lunch
- Mr SA has a blood test Wednesday morning
- The dog has her medication review at the vets Wednesday lunchtime, another hit for the vet pot!
- DGD is 12 on Thursday - 12 already! I just put money in a card and gave it to her last time I saw her.
- Helping at the park event on Saturday
Mr SA disappeared for ages this afternoon and left the dog at home. When he came back he'd been in the charity shop looking for 'things'. He was apparently in a buying mood although came back with nothing. He claimed he had started planning his holiday wardrobe in advance. Reminded him we're only going for 3 nights he doesn't need a whole new wardrobe of clothes 😐

Anything he buys now will be old news by the time the holiday comes round! I suppose the anticipation is part of the fun.
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Does anyone know what these are? I’ve put the photo in Google but it’s not really coming up with anything other than ground bees, They look like small flies rather than bees but bright turquoise? They’re near my pond.

Greenbottle flies?

I can't see them properly, but they do look like something in the greenbottle/bluebottle line of flies.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!2 -
Thank you both, after Googling again it appears they most likely are green bottles. I don’t recall seeing them before.

That’s Tuesday done. Worked in the office until 12.30 then met my friend for lunch and a book swap which was lovely. 3 hours of chatting and two glasses of rose later we went our separate ways home. I still miss working with her.
Caught the bus home as it was hot outside and couldn’t face the hill.
WFH for the next two days thank goodness.
