Morning all 🙂
I’ve been up a while enjoying the peace and quiet before Mr SA gets up. DD has gone to work.
I need to give the house a good clean today as nothing got done yesterday. No plans to go anywhere other than the park across the road.
Plenty of garden jobs to be done too.
As predicted loads of leftover Prosecco. If I can get through today’s jobs I’ve promised myself a glass in my hanging chair this afternoon.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪4 -
II Have promised myself a glass too!!

Your prosecco will be well deserved! Glad the park event went well.

Oh dear to the accident but at least he was trying to clean it rather than waiting for you to do it
😂 at him bribing the tombola to get his hands on the bumbag
Prosecco in the hanging garden chair is living the good life, hope you're enjoying 🥂

I got everything done and enjoyed the Prosecco in my chair 🥂🥳
Got a fair bit of gardening done too.
I must say today was the perfect temperature for me. Very warm approximately 27/28 degrees but not too hot to get things done. There was also a welcome breeze so didn’t have to have the fan on for the dog just opened all the windows.
Have been shouting at and battling with flies, pesky blighters have been driving me insane. The minute you open a window they’re in 😖 A rolled up W@itrose paper dispatched a fair few though.
Tonight’s dinner was stir fry veg and noodles.
Really not looking forward to another full working week, this weekend has flown by far too fast ☹️Today was a NSD so that was a plus.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪5 -
Countdown to retirement is on though, how long now?! Feel like you need a retirement advent calendar (with a prosecco behind every door 😁)

I'm aiming for the end of May 2027. I plan to book a summer holiday for next June and not to have to return to work.

Afternoon all, happy Monday.
Worked in the office until late morning, WFH this afternoon.
It was a bit cooler walking to work this morning, even had a light jacket on. Didn't need it on the way back though.
Monday finance check done and cc balance cleared. It's the final week of the 4 week budget period. Predicting a decent underspend at this moment in time although not counting chickens before they've hatched.
Very disappointed that 🐙have replaced the weekly free coffee with a scratch card 😞This week's prize was a free Lid! sweet bakery item that's only useful for Mr SA. No coffee for me 😢Another good thing bites the dust.
Not had any freebies from the Lid! app recently and only a couple of percentage off coupons that are useful. The co-op app has gone the same way and I'm only getting pence off coupons rather than the £1 off I was getting.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home, picked up a couple more packs of the beetroot/Moroccan burgers while they're on offer. Mr SA met me with the dog so I could put the shopping bag and my work bag on the scooter.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and live strength training tonight.
Tonight's dinner is yellow split pea and sweet potato curry from the PON One Pot cookbook.
The neighbour has got a builder repointing his chimney so hopefully he hasn't forgotten about the bird cowl. Mr SA is going to remind him and I've told him to also tell him we'll pay for it as he wouldn't take any money for the trellis he put up earlier this year.

What a shame about the free coffee! That was such a nice little thing to look forward to…
I'm glad you mentioned the Moroccan burgers. I must remember to check if our L1dl has them, I think I'd like them.

It's surprising how cheery a little thing like a free coffee can be, isn't it?
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!1
