That's Monday done.
The curtains are still up 🎉
@joeyjimbles thank you, I'll look for that version.
I was in the office until just after lunchtime then came home to finish up.
Today is NSD 4 of January. Finances have been done and there was an underspend overall of £140 which is fab for December.
Some oddments have gone to the 1p a day savings challenge so day 9 ticked off and there's now £9.53 in there. Another oddment has gone to the Christmas 2023 pot so now £80.94.
£300 has gone to the Coventry RS and £125 to the Principality RS. £50 to the house pot and £40 to personal spends.
Survey pot now holds £37.35.
The new budget 4 week budget period starts today so the budget pots have been filled back up. Trying very hard to have a reasonable underspend again this month.
So many pots so little time 🤣
Exercise has been walking to/from work. I'm also going to do a new Get Fit with Rick body combat workout later.
Tonight's dinner is trying a new recipe from the WW app - prawn tagine. I'm back on tracking on the app from today as I want to lose a few pounds for my holiday.
Need to clean the living room and entrance hall later too.

I think you'll find the original Mrs Arris was Gracie Fields way back in 1958. I remember watching watching it. Eve

Morning happy Tuesday.
WFH today and thank goodness looking at the weather out there.
Mr M delivery arrived first thing nothing missing and one sensible sub. There were a few things out of stock on the website I couldn’t order so will need to pick them up elsewhere.Today’s exercise is dog walking, live bums & tums at lunchtime and live resistance bands tonight.
Trying a new recipe again tonight peanutty noodles from Deliciously Ella. This will use up some peanut butter powder I bought ages ago.If I get time I’m going to look into opening a Zopa account for my sinking fund pots. They’re attached to savings accounts in my current account and the interest rate is pants. Might as well earn a bit of something on them. I also need to ring the charity shop that picks up donations as I have quite a few bags to get rid of.Cleaning today will be the bathroom and I need to descale the coffee maker.DS will ring later to let us know how DIL got on at the neurologist.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -

Chase is good for savings pots - mine are all there - easy to use and 2.7% interest paid monthly which motivates me.December underspend is great - my spending just about wobbled in to balance itself out. I'm trying for a frugal January ....4

I hope the neurologist appointment is helpful.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

SA if the curtains fall down again the best way forward would be to get either a handyman or maybe your DS to put a baton right along the wall for the brackets to screw into. All my curtain poles have these and painted with the wall colour they are not noticed. All that clutter used to be money4

Hurrah SA - you finally have a new diary, I'm in! I've read some of your old one and obviously having been about on here for a good while I'm aware of the stuff with Mr SA etc - an incredibly tough situation, and another here who admires that you face everything with your clearly wry sense of humour intact.
If you aren't fussed about the lining on the curtains but like the curtains themselves might it work to just strip the lining out to reduce the weight? We had two temperamental curtain rails. the front room main one needs v-e-r-y cautious pulling as every now and again it collapses in the middle - it's been like it for the entire time we've been there though - we just swear at it and bundle everything back into place now!Our bedroom one had brackets pulling out of the walls almost from the day we put it up there - but that has now been replaced thanks to a freebie we gained. I polyfilla'd the old holes and MrEH drilled the new ones in a slightly different spot and so far, so good...I'm nervous of saying that though now! Curtains across bay windows are meant to be far better for energy economy as they essentially shut off an area of the room you don't need to heat - at least that's the theory!
Keeping fingers crossed here that DIL gets good news from her neurologist visit.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
