Oh no SA. It never rains but it pours. Our latest dog has a habit of walking in his poo as soon as he has performed and I have found several footprints on the carpet where I havent watched him in the garden and seen him go. Good to hear your DiL has a neurology appointment.Another one who thinks a poo pot is a good idea. It could be extended to include all Mr SAs disasters.7

Sorry I've been absent a couple of days (work) and you've had such a horrible time. I'm glad DiL was let out of hospital, and hope she and the family are able to get some precious 'ordinary time' with each other despite everything.
Oh no! to the curtains, clean-ups etc. You are wise not to have carpets. Could you contact the manufacturers of the curtains and ask what they recommend? If anyone's thought through the issues of the weight, you'd hope it would be them. As to washing them despite the label, I washed some 'dry clean only' cushion covers that cost rather more than I'd ever usually pay and I'm pleased to say they came though very well. I think sometimes these cautions about washing are slapped on to protect the seller rather than out of necessity, and a bit of common sense saves the day.
@Crazycatlady2, I'm sorry to hear things are tough for you too. I hope your husband soon finds another job, and one that he enjoys.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

We are still curtainless in the living room as we are leaving the no more nails to set overnight. The pole brackets are back up so it’s just a matter of putting everything back together tomorrow. Also used the no more nails to glue back on a piece of UPVC skirting board in the kitchen and it’s worked really well.@Cherryfudge they were only from The Range so no great loss if I have to replace them. I struggled to get the colour I wanted and this was the only place I could find this particular colour. They are heavily lined blackout curtains, I would’ve preferred lighter ones but it was the colour issue.
@Crazycatlady2 sorry to hear about your husband’s job and the other issues. Bad things seem to happen all at once unfortunately.Mr SA had a fall tonight on the patio, it was raining heavily, he’d gone out to check his scooter was covered up and slipped.
Heard some very sad news tonight. The owner of a bar we frequent in Lanzarote has sadly passed away 😢 He was such a lovely bloke, always remembered us and was very helpful with Mr SA. Couldn’t have been older than 50 something.I think the older cat will need a trip to the vets as she is squatting in corners and squirting blood 🙁 This happened before a few years ago and she had an infection. Now I’m starting to wonder if it was the younger cat or her who did the 💩I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)13 -
Hope mr SA is ok and you get your cat sorted x4

I'm so sorry to hear of all your latest traumas SA. Poor you. ☹️ I'm so pleased though that your DIL is home now. Another advocating the Poo Pot. You deserve it. Your idea of getting round a handyman to do the odd DIY jobs is a good one now that Mr SA isn't up to doing things. I see quite a few ads in our local free paper for these services. Usually retired chippies/plumbers etc who can often supply references. Hoping your cat is on the mend too. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

What a grim day.
Tomorrow has to be better. I hope Mr SA and the little cat are okay. Perhaps an early night is needed, bring on tomorrow and better times soon.
