Can you believe we were sitting here watching TV and the blooming curtain pole has just crashed to the floor and completely ripped the bracket out of the wall 😩 Can’t even blame it on Mr SA as no one has touched it. I blame it on the super heavy curtains, they weigh a ton. We are fated with this curtain pole 🙁I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Reminds me of the curtains and poles in our old house. The room had been replastered and boarded that many times you could never get fittings long enough to get back to brick.
We never closed the curtains for fear of disturbing the pole and it falling off again 🙈5 -

Sun_Addict said:Prior to replastering we never had a problem so no idea why this keeps happening. Mr SA seems to think he has a solution 😬Oh dear!I no longer draw my curtains after I noticed a couple of the brackets attaching one set to the wall have broken. They are all 4 now nicely draped. Within the window alcoves I now have black out curtains on shower rails. It has actually made the room warmer & what was only intended to be a temporary solution during lockdown has become the final solution. No-one seems to notice that they are shower rails as they match the double glazing.

We put my curtain rail back up using Tetrion "Hard as Rock" filler. The rawl plugs wouldn't stay in because of the cat climbing the curtains and pulling them out. This filler sets like concrete and you can then drill into it and start again - I haven't had a problem in the four years since we used it.6

And it gets worse 😩
Got up this morning to find Mr SA had left the living room door open when I distinctly told him to close it to keep the cats out. There was cat pee under the lighted twig tree (this is a favourite spot of the young cat despite her having a litter tray) so cleaned that up.Mr SA announced I may need to wash the fallen down curtain - on further investigation found it was covered in 💩 Mr SA had stepped in it and had also shuffled it through the house. I suspect the curtain isn’t machine washable but whatever it’s going in there. I might be buying a new pair of curtains today. And this is why I don’t have carpets!Happy Saturday 😭I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
