What about a block of solid loo cleaner? Bleach is a good deterrent of course but difficult to place safely.

I got quite a lot done. The replacement jet washer is brilliant and the patio looks so much better although it could do with another go. Mr SA cleaned his scooter with it and soaked my almost dry washing 😐
I got the bedroom done and have cleared Mr SA’s bedside drawers. No doubt he’ll start getting things out and leaving them on the top again.
Had to chase up the chemist yet again as Mr SA’s prescription hadn’t been delivered and his meds had run out. This is the second month running this has happened. All sorted now.
A magazine subscription had renewed without me realising while we were on holiday and I was charged £54.99. I always cancel before it renews and then renew at a good price but this time it must’ve escaped my attention. I phoned them and they’ve renewed the subscription for £19.99 and refunded the £54.99. So that was worth doing. While I was on the phone to them I cancelled another subscription that doesn’t renew until November. I’ll look for another offer when it finishes as they didn’t offer me anything for that one.
The flooring is back down but it doesn’t look great 😞 Mr SA suggested getting a rug to cover it up 😐 I’m not happy as this flooring wasn’t cheap. It’s quite a small area though so I’m half tempted to replace it with vinyl flooring so if the cat pees on it again it won’t seep through the joins. Something to consider if necessary. On the plus side the smell has gone.
While Mr SA slept I grabbed my garden trug and filled it with stuff from the shed. I’m going to keep doing this bit by bit. A lot of things need sorting into like for like rather than a random box of assorted carp.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Just read your post for today, and realised that I had forgotten to pop into chemist and pick up our repeat prescriptions. Luckily they are open till 1pm tomorrow. I must write myself a BIG note to remind me….LOL

I need to make big efforts with our shed too, @SA. Mr F's side is usually worse than mine, but not atm. I've got piles of stuff teetering all over the place. The only inroads I've really made with it recently is making sure I potted up all my sister's tomato plants, chillies & other plants into pots I don't want to keep.....ditto crates & shuttle trays for transporting them to our family meet-up. Looking forward to a proper chuck-out. Mr F says he's having one too.
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!1 -
Well done sorting it even if doesn't look great. If it's not a trip hazard maybe put an old towel down over it for a few days to see if it happens again then consider your options in case it's a specific territorial or comfort thing for cat

Morning all, happy Saturday 🥂
Won’t get much doing time today as we’re off to the big Mr T shortly then DS and the GKs are here just after lunchtime. Hopefully we’ll finally get the panel back on the covered area where Mr SA keeps his scooter as DS said he’d fix it. I’ll see if I can sort out another part of the shed when they’ve gone.
I need to get DGS a birthday card and put some cash in it. It’s not his birthday until the end of the month but we might not see him again until after the day.
Today’s exercise will be walking to/from Mr T and general pottering.
Tonight’s dinner is bean balls in puttanesca sauce from Niki Webster’s Vegan Air Fryer book. I’ve made this before and it’s delicious.
Last but not least it’s rose Prosecco night.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
DS put the panel back on but it was quite a faff for him. I had £10 in my purse so insisted he took it for a few beers. He definitely deserved it, it wasn’t an easy job.
After they left I had an hour in my hanging chair reading which was very welcome as I hadn’t really sat down all afternoon.
DGD hasn’t been happy at school and problems haven’t been resolved so DIL is trialling home schooling her. I hope it works out but I do fear for her socialising. The best part of school for me was seeing my friends and eyeing up the lads.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Great the panel has been sorted, and that you got a wee bit of relaxing time
That's sad about DGD, are they able to contact the board of governors and say what's been happening (and not happening)?

Sorry to hear about DGDs problems at school and well done to DIL and DS having her back and taking action.
Our children have always been home educated, their is a huge and continuingly grown community of families educating otherwise. If DIL joins look home schooling/education online groups, usually Facebook, they should find lots of local groups offering lots of information, meet ups, workshops etc as well as national and local online groups to support the parents.
We have attended many groups over the years which have a primary purpose of getting children educated otherwise together socially, we changed groups as interests and aged changed. Groups have included monthly play park meet up, ice skating, trampolining...
We also attended weekly classes, many monthly groups.
Remind DIL & DGD that 1-2-1 lessons can be much shorter in length if all parties (particularly the student) engage as there won't be distractions from the class clown, the register as well as being able to adjust the pace of the class to suit the students needs, slower when challenges arise and faster for areas they are confident in.
Feel free to DM me any questions any of you may have.

That's such a shame about DGD. Little miss's school were very good with her issues and she's much happier now.
