The saying" a change is as good as a rest" springs to mind. Doesn't make itany less scary though does it! Sounds like you are being very productive at home too. And taking a break from swimming lessons at this time of year with the weather and dark nights is not a bad thing either. 😂
It is scary, especially as there are likely to be hundreds leaving at the same time.

I've been productive this weekend, the last few months, not so... 😆

The break from swimming (and the cost!) will be quite welcome for sure.

Any company would be lucky to have you on board @jwil! Better things lie ahead; as you say, you could well end up with a lovely payout as you start a new job! Love Humdinger xx

I was awake in the night with the fear about having to spend loads on childcare again, particularly in the holidays.  The reality is, if I really wanted to, I could stretch my time off to include the summer holidays, or just take a part time job for now and use my redundancy to top it up.  There are solutions to most problems!  Once little miss is in secondary school I won't be so bothered as they are both sensible.

  • What’s your maximum carry over allowed for the new leave year? Maybe getting cash for those 7 days could extend your non working time by 2 weeks.

Carry over is frowned upon and only allowed in exceptional circumstances.  I once asked to carry over a week for my birthday (only 2 weeks after the end of my leave year) and it wasn't allowed.  Extra cash would be nice, but equally I'll value the time off.
