I also got £20 amazon voucher yesterday from a survey site
I haven't padded the equivalent though as the bank account is looking a bit tight at the moment, and I don't want to dip into savings. I might park that one for now, and leave it as a treat.

I think having work done on your house is addictive. I can never stop at one thing. When we had our new bathroom I chose a deep sea green for the walls and the builder advised not to have such a dark colour. I persevered and had it done anyway and it looked great. The builder admitted he’d been wrong 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Plumber not quite finished, but coming back today to finish grouting, box in pipes, and seal the bath. I think that's all! Very exciting. The towel rail is fitted but not connected, and he says he'll come back and take it off when we get the plastering done, and then connect it properly then. We won't be using the heat at the moment anyway so that's no problem.
We got the quote from the electrician to do the other work - we'll probably go ahead and get it done. It's making me nervous about spending yet more money, but it would be good to have it done once and for all. I've paid the bill for the shower, and that was just essentially an hours work so all good there.
Someone has given us a recommendation for a plasterer so I will do a bit of googling and see what I can find out. If nothing untoward comes up then we will probably contact them for a quote. Even if we don't paint straight away, the bathroom won't look finished until the walls are tidied up.
I'm absolutely gutted. Last night something went in my knee and it's really painful again 😫 I was so pleased that it had been mostly pain free for a while now. Just before the summer holidays too! It's not too painful to walk on but feels sore and stiff, so hopefully it won't take long to heal this time. I couldn't get comfortable with it last night, so didn't sleep well.

The bathroom is done (for now!). It looks so much better with the boxed in pipes, much cleaner lines and much brighter, even without the plastering and flooring done. I've also paid the bill nice and promptly as I don't like it hanging over me.
Tomorrow I need to give things a good wipe down, and then put everything back. It will be nice not to have it stacked in our bedroom.
I will get in touch with the electrician but need to think of a plan of how and where to move things around."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee6
