A productive morning so far!  The room has had a second coat on the ceiling (so that should be done now) and a coat on the walls too.  Once it dries I'll see if it needs a second coat before the colour paint or whether I can just go for it.  I'm hoping it won't need a second as the paint went on very well.

I put some good tunes on whilst I was painting instead of an audiobook this time, and so entertained the whole street with my singing for a while :D  It's a lovely sunny day here and quite mild so I've had all the windows open.  The sun makes such a difference to my mood as well.

Despite lots of squatting and climbing, my knee hasn't been too bad, much better than last time - so maybe the exercises are starting to impact. 🤞🤞  It's stiffening up a bit now I've stopped, but not too painful so far.  DH went out to a car boot sale this morning, but helped finish off when he got back.  My arms feel like they've had a good workout too :D

We're heading out this afternoon so won't be getting any more done today.  I'm very pleased with what we've achieved.  The room looks so much better already.

    I'm Wessex Water area.
So am I. Bournemouth Water in - £1.0639 per cubic meter, £24.79 per annum fixed (standing) charge and Wessex Water out (sewage) £1.7385 per cubic meter and standing charge £35.00 per annum.
I can't help give you a comparable for volume as I live on my own, but you may know that already. Or maybe ask local families what they use? Good luck. I really think if you can do it for 2 years (or less) and change your mind it is the way to go. V x

I've seen local discussions on FB and people definitely seem to be paying a lot less.  One chat earlier and they are actually paying more on a meter than we are rated.  I think they are probably high users though.  I used the calculators on a 'worst case' scenario, so in reality our usage is probably less than that estimated.  I think I probably will give it a go.

Thank you.  That's useful.  I do worry a bit about when the kids get older but I've tried to include that into my estimates in the calculations - using the washing machine more and more showers/baths than now.

17 listings done.  That's enough for the day!

Knee still not too painful, so Tuesday will be the test when I walk to school again.  Kids are still off tomorrow, but DH back to work and I'm working.

  • We are up north so price is different. Our bill says 450 litres a day as an estimate for family of four. We use slightly less than that and pay 53 a month on a meter. Think your area has a bad rep for water costs though.
Happy belated birthday by the way. Sorry I missed seeing it was your special day!

Thank you :)   Yes, we are definitely in an expensive area, though not the worst!
