Car boot sale was a success
Great PADs but then they generally are!If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I did a car boot sale on Saturday, until the heavens opened at 11am. Flaming June!!!
Still, £65 raised for the local community market. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3 -

Morning everyone.
I'm struggling with everything at the moment, so haven't really been inclined to post much other than keep up with my pads. Work is depressing as ever. We might have a better idea of what's likely to be happening next month if lucky, but otherwise September. There are good people at risk at the moment, and lots leaving otherwise. The workload seems to get ever higher as well. I'm not sure I want to stay any more, but it makes sense to see this out and what it all looks like in the future. I've seen a couple of interesting jobs but they are a significant pay cut, plus commutes so there's no point at the moment, and this is the issue as we could do with me keeping this wage to enable us to get everything done.
There is a lot going on at school and outside at the moment, so I'm spending a lot of time juggling work and having to get the kids to where they need to be. It's exhausting and when at home I'm having a tendency to bury myself in a book to escape the world. There's still the odd bit of decluttering going on, and a few ebay sales so some progress being made.
Our shower is leaking, and so I think I've finally convinced DH that there is no point continuing to throw good money after bad, so I'll be contacting a plumber to get a quote to get our bathroom done. It will likely wipe out most of the savings, but there's never going to be a good time to do it, so we'd better just get it done before any wider damage is done. Hopefully the quote won't be too bad, and it will be lovely to have it done! I'm also going to get our kitchen taps replaced, and hopefully with those and the bathroom done, I'll feel more confident about switching to a water meter as our bill is over £100 a month, and I don't believe we use that much water!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I'm pinching @doingitanyway reasons to be cheerful, to overcome my moaning.
I booked myself a hot date with Keanu ReevesIt's an online event where he's talking about his new book. Unfortunately I missed out on the signed copies, but I'll get the book anyway.

A hot date with Keanu sounds perfect. I never got over my Speed crush from back in the day 🥰
Sorry everything is a bit pants, but I really think the bathroom is a good idea. When I swapped my Bath out for a lovely reliable non moving fitted one MrWW (who never takes baths) thought it was pointless and the claw foot looked better (it didn’t). I got the biggest deepest one I could, with a central tap and it makes me smile every time I look at it. It could fit a hippo in, so is the perfect size for me 😅Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Sorry there’s so much happening. Keep plodding. Great idea to get the bathroom done if you can as prices will only go up.Work sounds not the best & it’s so unsettling.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
