DH had a flurry of sales again so 4 parcels gone (more boxes!) and 2 still to pay.  Someone is messing around on FB marketplace.  I hate it!  Much prefer ebay with no interaction required.

I've gone 6 hours over on flexi and need to use it before next week otherwise I'll lose it.  I'm going to try and do shorter days or have longer lunchbreaks this week to cut back, and hopefully will get some stuff done. I'm out 2 days this week as well which might make it more difficult.

Honestly @jwil these rules on flexi are unfair! I know it's a liability for companies but time off is part of your pay.  Can you get an extension to use it agreed? Love Humdinger xx
  • Ahh I love Cornwall so I'm quite jealous of your trip! Whereabouts will you be staying? Last couple of times we went down there we were at Coverack on the Lizard, but we've camped up near Camborne a few times too.

Definitely do what you need to to use the flexi time - it's not your fault they make rules that mean you have to use it at time that might not be the most convenient, and perhaps if they find people are having no choice but to do that, they will consider making it a little more genuinely "flexible"!

I'm not too worried, I don't normally build up so much excess, but I had leave to use up so used that instead of the flexi in December.  I'm happy to take some longer lunchbreaks and start later/leave earlier for a few days where I can.  It will still leave me with 20 hours to carry over and I'll make sure I start using it to make a dent in it (probably use it to take some time in half term).

I love Cornwall too.  We've stayed down on the Lizard the last few times, but also spent a fair amount of time around Perranporth/Newquay in previous years.  This time we are staying near Looe.

The flexi isn't normally an issue with me as I don't build it up as much now I'm doing compressed hours.  I think I stopped taking so much notice of it as a result, and also using leave rather than flexi has meant it's kind of taken me by surprise.  I'm usually keen to take it as soon as I can :D:D

I've been in a stinking mood today, I just can't be bothered (that flexi has come in handy and I've lost just over an hour today :D:D ).  My knee is really painful again and it's just making me fed up.  I know if I go to the GP they'll just tell me to lose weight so I just need to keep trying.  I don't know whether I should carry on with the walking in the hope that it strengthens/eases, or rest it.  It got worse when I didn't exercise over Christmas so I guess there is my answer.

I know part of my mood is these two days out this week.  It's a lot of travel and in inconvenient places (I'm definitely a fan of virtual meetings rather than travelling for the sake of it) so I'll be better when those are over and done with.

In happier news though, I've reached £50 on You Gov!  So I can PAD that when it arrives.

  • Wow! Yougov has been dragging on for years for me. Well done. They keep asking if we’d like shorter surveys and smaller check out milestones…I keep saying yes, but they don’t listen. Much like all of the government 🤣
I like virtual meetings too. And you know after all of that trailing you’ll get nothing done that couldn’t have been done remotely (and a lot quicker) 😢

It's probably about 2 years since I last cashed out, that's usually roughly how long it takes for me.  It would be nice if they'd reduce it to £25 or so.  I saw today that Nadhim Zahawi is a founder or something - no wonder they don't listen :D

I know, it's over an hour travelling each way so that's more than 2 hours wasted.  We can't car share as we are all coming from different areas and you can't get there by public transport.  It's ridiculous and bad for the environment!

The other meeting is a bit of a faff, not quite as far, but it's in a nice cafe, so I'm less miffed about that one :D:D
