As you know I am at home again, very tired but glad its aanother procedure out of the way.I was disappointed not to be released from my drain (11 weeks today its been in
) but I now have to await to hear from the consultant as to what the next move is.
My SMART nurse phoned for my obs. this morning and bless her she was so kind, and like me was disappointed, but bless her she said on Monday morning she will try to chase up the Drs secretary to see what maybe next for me .So the lasses who have been looking after me at home for the past 8 weeks are all rooting as well.
Slightly disconcerting yesterday afternoon just before I was sedated the rather young DR said airily Don't worry dear if I cause any damage to your stomach wallat least your handy for theatre !!! not really what one wants to hear ,especially when he's the one going to do the procedure . Perhaps it was his attempt to put me at ease ,but it really didn't
My youngest DD is going to pick me up and take me to her house for dinner tomorrow as its Mothers Day, my eldest is at her Ma-in-laws but will ring me and has already dropped off the card and a gift.
Youngest had to work an extra day today owing to staff shortages but still popped her head in and brought me a treat of some watermelon fingers she buys for me they are delicious and I prefer them to a bar of chocolate.
Apart from that I am still knee deep in my baby blanket knitting 348 rows of 175 stitches per row and each row is different so its taken me so far around 7 weeks and I still have 57 rows to do.Its looking good, and I know my granddaughter wants one each for her two little girls only larger so they can be throws.i've told her I can do it but it may be this autumn before they are finished so it will be part of their Christmas presents. I have sufficient wool thank goodness, it just I can only usually manage at most 10 rows a day then I start to tire and my arms ache so thats the maximum amout I can do a dayDefinitely a labour of love
Right I'm going to watch Dr Zhivargo which I recorded this afternoon as its one of my favourite films and I think I've seen it about 4 times but I never tire of watching it
Thanks everyone and thanks NRA for keeping you all up to date
Cheers JackieO xx

Glad to hear you're back home Jackie. What a PITA that you've still got the drain and don't know what or when the next steps are going to be. It's good that the SMART nurses are going to chase up the Dr's secretary to try to find out what's happening.
Enjoy your Mother's Day with your youngest DD. I'm sure you'll have a good time.

Good to hear that you are back home Jackie and hope that it is not too long before you find out what the next steps will be - sounds like that baby blanket is progressing at speed - would love to see a pic when it's finished.
