I got a letter from PIP to say my money will be increasing slightly. This is doubly good news as it means I can apply for my CEA card now as I have an official letter from the DWP. I need to get some photos done for the card and for my passport.
I haven't been doing much at all lately. My husband has been doing overtime to bump up our savings with all the work we have had done in our house. I have been watching a lot of TV as we have the Netflix free trial and I have been reading a lot. I got a few books for £1 for hardcover books and 10 p each for paperback from a good local chazzer and have been working my way through them and also the books on my kindle.
I was hoping to sell some things on ebay, but I realised today that I cannot remember my log-in or even what email account I used on there. It is strange as I used to use ebay an awful lot. I did read that Facebook market is good. I'm not on FB, but my husband has an account.
Fab wise, I did dye my hair roots and I have the chiropodist booked next week for a tidy up. If the weather improves enough to wear sandals I may get a pedicure after that. The one I had around here last year did last about 6 week/2 months. My hair also needs a trim so I might text my mobile hairdresser to see if she can come here soon.4 -
Hello Ladies,
Wednesday that is good news about your PIP and the fact you will be able to apply for your CEA card.
I also had a letter about the increase in my PIP. The extra money is so welcome with all of the cost of living increases we all have to get through.
I went to the Gillian Lynne Theatre this afternoon to watch The Lehman Trilogy and I thoroughly enjoyed this play based on the real Lehman family. It is an awesome body of work which is over 3 hours long.
Thankfully that meant there were 2 intervals for this play. I got my ticket which should have cost me £90 for only £10.

That's a really good deal on the ticket, Sugerbaby.
I'm just plodding along here. Really desperate to get my hair cut and coloured and get new glasses but I think it's wise to wait until I see the oncologist. A hospital appointment came through for the 20th of this month so that might be the one. Who knows! It could be for anything.
Anyway, I've been slapping on the body lotion like it's going out of fashion and what a difference it's making to my skin. Also the facial cleansing, toning and moisturising must be making a difference. Even Himself noticed. Hopefully the weight is coming off as well.
So, I'm off for a coffee and then I'm going to have a tidy up.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.2 -
Hello Ladies,
Toni's Friend, I hope your appointment on the 20th is the one you would prefer it to be. You are doing so well with your personal grooming and it must have been a big confidence boost that your husband has noticed the results of all of your efforts.
I got my ticket for The Lehman Trilogy from The National Theatre through their Friday Rush scheme where all tickets are £10 online each Friday from 1pm.

2 Scratters xxAnything is better than nothing-check back and see
On the declutter journey since 2023 with Mrs SD. Tilly Tidy since 2023.2 -
Hello Ladies,
2 Scratters the CEA card is a photo ID card which gives the disabled holder of the card a free complimentary cinema ticket for someone to accompany them to the cinema. It is really easy to apply online for a CEA card as long as you have a recent PIP award letter.
Please note that there are theatres that will also give a disabled person a free complimentary ticket for someone to accompany them, but in my personal experience, you do not need a CEA card for complimentary theatre tickets, but you can only usually book direct with the box office, not online.4 -
Hello Ladies,
I went to the Blackfriars Settlement mental health and well being discussion group on Wednesday from 11am to 12.30pm. We discussed many issues.I had a free lunch of vegetable soup and a slice of bread at the Settlement and I was also given 2 free chilled roast dinner meals to take home.
This was the last week of the free soup and the free chilled meals from the Felix Project.
Thursday evening my daughter and I went to the Bush Theatre to watch the play Sleepova. It was a relaxed performance and the audience was very vocal of their appreciation of the 4 female actors in this play. I got a £12 Count Me In Access ticket and I got a free companion ticket for my daughter, so I saved £13 compared to buying a standard ticket for myself.Even though I am 30 years older than my daughter this play was really appealing to both of us and we found it equally entertaining and relevant.
I have no plans for Easter, other than to spend time at home watching plays with The National Theatre at Home and lots of tv programmes.3 -
I've bought a jacket! In the words of Himself "It's very smart but a bit radical for you!". Good. That's the idea. Black and white Houndstooth check which will go with lots nicely with trousers and a bright top.
It's a little tight at the moment but it will be perfect in the summer when I lose a few pounds.
Trying to avoid the Easter eggs today!Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.3 -
Hi everyone,
I've not been around recently as we've had a pretty horrendous time with our darling mini labradoodle Rossetti (Zetti) whose health rapidly declined and who sadly had to be PTS on Thursday. We are absolutely heartbroken 😪😓😢 He was only eleven 😭 This pic is from just six months ago when he was in perfect health....
I'll catch up with all your news later, but for now I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter 🐇 🐣 🐰🥚 Due to not feeling remotely up to the effort I've barely done anything festive other than putting a few more daffs and hyacinths about the place (oh and a handful of orange chocolate eggs)....3 -
I’m not a poster and normally just read and lurk but I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear your sad new @liberty_lily
Out pets are so much part of the family and it is devastating when we lose them - Zetti will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 xx3
