  • @bubbs This sounds a very stressful situation for you both. As far as I'm aware if your mum refuses to care for him then "they"
(I think it's adult social services) have to arrange another option. If he returns home for a few hours it may be difficult to get them to take responsibility. Maybe citizens advise can help?

    Morning all.

Oh @bubbs I really feel for you and your mum but no ideas beyond what has already been suggested.  The one thing I would say is your must absolutely must continue to refuse to have him home so that he is still the hospital's responsibility and not hers.  He definitely needs to be in some kind of nursing care whether that be in hospital or in a rehab centre or nursing home. It's obvious your mum wouldn't be able to cope with him - the hospital are having enough problems with professional staff!  I really don't see how they can think it's a good idea to send him home and for the nurse to say we'll send him home for a couple of hours and take him back if necessary is absolutely  ridiculous.

Well done @Jellybaby on your small loss.  It can be difficult when you are trying to use up non SW stuff from the freezer but you have made a good start on refilling it with plenty of SW friendly meals.

You had a good day planned there @Hundredsandthousands?.  Do you often have both semi skimmed and oat milk?  I assume you choose to have the oat milk because you like it rather than need it?  I sometimes use almond milk if I fancy making a rice pudding as it makes it lovely and creamy!

    Today's plan:

B - fry up - P; S; F; 2 (back to my normal LF sausages today - DH is eating more of the chippie ones!)
    L - burger, onions in a WM roll with a few chips - HEB; S; 4
    D - roast beef dinner with lots of veg - P; S

    HEA - milk
    HEB - WM roll
Syns - LF sausages 2; LF burger 0.5; few chips 3.5

    Have a good day everyone.

Horrible situation for you all bubbs, I don't have much advice but as others have said stand your ground when they are talking about sending your dad home for a couple of hours. It sounds like this wouldn't be good for him at all, and upsetting for both your mum and him when he had to go back in.

Sounds like a great menu plan hundredsandthousands .. plenty of protein in there which is what I tended to struggle with at first, and then wondered why I wasn't feeling full. Don't forget to use your syns though as they are built into the plan.

I went over mine by 0.5 yesterday but still within my total for the week so that's ok. Will reign it back in today I am sure, not as many synful meals going on

    Today's food:

B- cinnamon french toast with fruit and yoghurt (0.5)
L- crustless quiche made with quark, red onion, leek and tenderstem with salad
D- chilli loaded wedges with some veggies

More syns to come later, have a good one everyone!

So sorry to hear about the ongoing uncertainty about your dad @bubbbs. 🤗 I agree that it would be crazy for him to come home at the moment, especially for a couple of hours. I know you're all having a hard time but, despite that, your mum and you and your sisters seem very determined women and won't be fobbed off. It's good to know that they are trying to find your father a suitable placement but I'm sure if you were to take him home it would be  'out of sight, out of mind' until it all started all over again.

It's good to hear that you're getting used to the plan @Hundredsandthousands. Hopefully you'll get a decent loss at the end of the week which will motivate you.

I've got some high syn sausages in the freezer too @joedenise. DD bought them by mistake and passed them on to me. I've been feeding them to DH.😁

I made masses of veggie chilli yesterday, 15 portions in all. I've frozen it into 5 meals for 2 and 3 smaller portions for me to have with a JP. I just had one for lunch and it was very tasty. I added a tin of cheapo Aldi baked beans including the sauce which seems to have thickened it a bit more than usual.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
    L- JP (F), veggie chilli (P,S), cottage cheese (P), beetroot (S)
D- roast chicken (P),  SW roast potatoes, LM stuffing (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns- HM gravy 4, weekend wine.😊

Couldn't believe it when DH told me he'd actually binned the sausages because of the amount of fat that had come out of them when he cooked them!  He actually prefers the low fat sausages other the chippie sausages - that's a win in my book!  For what we paid I'm not bothered about them being binned as the pies and chips will get used and just those were probably worth more than we paid.  We definitely won't be bothering with TGTG bags from there again!  Think we'll just stick with Morrison's bags in future, although definitely didn't need one today as still eating the fruit and veg from last week's bags!

Have decided to use 2nd HEA in a rice pudding to have this evening.  No idea why but just fancied it as not had one for such a long time.  Won't be as nice as usual as haven't got any almond milk in and just using normal skimmed milk!

Honestly @bubbs I just feel for you and your family - that’s a crazy idea to send your DDad home for a few hours and now your poor DMum with Covid! Just stay strong and agree with contacting your MP xx

I really enjoyed the egg and chips! Baked the egg in the oven for the last 10 minutes so only one dish to wash up! Met a friend at Bluewater mall
today. We had Nando’s but I had butterfly chicken (removed the skin) and rainbow slaw. Just had HM veg soup and an Olio WM roll for tea.

In the office tomorrow so need to do overnight oats shortly.

    Have a good evening all.

Your poor mum @bubbs. I do hope she only has a mild form and recovers quickly., 🤗

That's a good idea about doing the egg in the oven @Coxy11. I always do  tomatoes and mushrooms alongside the chips (to get some Speed in) but never thought of doing the eggs as well. It's not just the washing up but the energy use. Very mse. 👍
