  • I woke this morning, drank a big cup of tea and decided to jump on the scales, as the anxiety was building....

Ive lost 7lb :o   Official weigh in is tomorrow on day 7.

I'm now down in the next stone number, which is a relief.
A long way to go but it looks like this diet is working for me.

Thank you everyone for the amazing support, I really appreciate it x

joedenise & Coxy11 thanks for the scone info,  I think today I will try to keep my syns to around 5 (just incase)
but it's nice to know I can have a treat now and then.

Coxy11  You make pancakes with your oat allowance?  That sounds interesting!

@Hundredsandthousands - so pleased that you've lost 7lb so far even if it wasn't official WI day!  Good idea to keep syns down to around 5 today but wouldn't worry if you have a few more than that.

You can make all sorts of things with your oats allowance - usually involves yoghurt as well!  Thinks like overnight oats, baked oats, pancakes, waffles.  I tend to stick with overnight oats and baked oats or even just normal porridge with some fruit.

As we always say on this thread SW needs to work around your life not the other way round!

  • That's an amazing first week loss  @Hundredsandthousands well done! I guess there is nothing stopping you from weighing in as infrequently as you wanted online as all that happens on weigh day is that you get an email reminding you to weigh in. It really spurs you on getting a good loss in the first week though so the weekly ones may suit you after all.

OK folks please form an orderly queue and kick my butt!  Food today should be fine but I've lost the plot and just not feeling it.  Hopefully back to normal soon.

    Great result @Hundredsandthousands whoohoo!

Have a good day @Jellybaby, you've got this!!

The pancakes were lovely - very filling. I had with a fresh sliced banana and a tsp of maple syrup. Would definitely do these again mmmmmmmm

    That's absolutely brilliant @Hundredsandthousands! 😁👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

That's a great first week loss, a new number and well done for getting on those scales! 👍🏼

Going forward, the losses will  settle down into a steady pattern. I averaged 1.5lbs a week when I was getting to target, for some it can be slower and sometimes a good week on plan doesn't show straight away. I'm not trying to put you off but just being realistic as I don't want you to be disheartened. Do try not to think of SW as a 'diet'. It's a healthy, balanced eating plan which will help you lose weight if you stick to it. If you think of it as a quick fix diet and then go back to whatever you were doing before then the weight will come back on.

I'm sure that was just a wobble becasue of the in-laws @Jellybaby. Hope you've drawn that line and have a plan in place. You can definitely do this. Think how good you'll feel when you get to target.

Hope you're still sticking to the low Pepsi trial @bubbs . By my standards, I thought you had quite a lot of fruit yesterday, 3 pieces for breakfast and then whatever with your ice cream. At the moment, I generally have 2 bananas and 2 portions of frozen berries per week when I have porridge for breakfast, otherwise almost all my Speed is from vegetables. I have a bit more in the summer when raspberries and strawberries are in season locally.

I'm feeling quite bloated which is infuriating as I've stuck perfectly to plan for some weeks and have WI on Thursday. Dance class tonight, so maybe some exercise will shift it. I have about 20 syns left this week but no plans to use them.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk, bacon, fried eggs (P), mushrooms (S)
L- cold meat (P), fried veg, beetroot, cornichons (S)
D- LO chicken (P), SW chips (F), roast vegetables, green stuff (S)
    Syns- 0

@bubbs meant to say the hamper for your friend looks lovely, I'm sure she'll be pleased.  I certainly would be to receive something like that.

@Coxy11 - I bought some of the the Skinny Whip minis which bubbs has used in her hamper at my local B&M.  They had two flavours but I've only the tried the chocolate and hazelnut ones so far and they're very nice and very chewy.  There's also a coconut one but not tried that yet.  Think they're pretty good at 1.5 syns each for a sweet treat.
